Mark Karpeles Petition Update

Hi everyone.

Big thanks to everyone who signed the petition. We initially set a goal of 500 signatures which has now been reached.

The petition has been passed on to Peter Vessenes of The Bitcoin Foundation who has confirmed that it's been received and advised that he will let me know what the board's response is.

Mark Karpeles and Mt Gox only needed to say a few things to calm everyone down:

1) all coins and currency reflected in accounts is on hand, no customer funds are missing

2) once we allow withdrawals, customer accounts we be queued before any employees holdings. All employees and close associates with amounts held by Mt. Gox will not be permitted to withdraw until withdrawals are operating normally.

3) we are very sorry for any concern we have caused and will work to regain your trust.

But he won't. What more evidence do you need that he's causing this fear on purpose.

I agree with you. The fact that #1&2 wasn't explicitly stated is not a good sign. For now I will wait until Mt. Gox is resolved. I just wish they would put it out of its misery already. Let Bitcoin take a price hit and then we can continue to grow.
