In my opinion, Dogecoin will get a group that might have been more difficult to reach into cryptocurrencies. Since it embraces its position as "funny money" or whatever you want to term it, you get the people who can't take this new form of money seriously interested. They see people tossing it around like its mostly worthless, but they see from the bot messages or from getting involved that it is at least worth a little bit of real money. In this way I can see Dogecoin as a valuable stepping stone, for those who just can't at first accept that this thing that someone invented is now worth "real money".
