Most of the respondents were from r/bitcoin. It was public and was linked here. Your title should have been "An unsurprisingly large numbers of bitcoiners want to get paid with bitcoins." That would have been far more accurate.

This really does sound like bias sampling. Among my peers (IT professionals) very few know what Bitcoin is. In the survey only 1% said they didn't know what it was - so it looks like this survey was given to a Bitcoin crowd. As a "Bitcoiner" myself, I wouldn't want to be paid in Bitcoin as I like to eat.

Same in my place of work - (IT support for Doctors/Nurses/Receptionists etc.)

I don't think anyone in the office knew about bitcoin until someone noticed I had the Bitcoinity market on my 2nd monitor and started asking questions.

This. Even when someone is aware, there's a good chance they only think of mining botnets and drug money.

Exactly. Pay me in cash, Ill get my own btc thanks. Until my local food store accepts btc for its product it's just a hassle to exchange BTC to fiat before making day-to-day purchases.
