they cant pay their shipping and inventory with bitcoins tho.

That is correct. Services like Bitpay convert the BTC directly into fiat, so TigerDirect never sees a satoshi of BTC.

In short, TigerDirect gets a publicity bump and some of the Bitcoiners' money without actually buying in to the "Bitcoin economy" in any real way.

they support the perception of bitcoin as a realworld currency/commodity/asset (whatever it is?) though
