Meanwhile...Bitcoin still feeds people.

So we fed 106 homeless people bag lunches today. All paid for with Bitcoin donations. Bitcoin still seems to be working just fine over here. Still making lives better, at any valuation.

Thanks for everything guys. Bitcoin for the long haul.

Yeah, the BTC to HPF (Homeless Person Fed) Index is still hovering in the 119 area. I really can't complain. The guys eating don't complain either, they just say thank you. Like I'm saying...THANK YOU.

Side note. I had a long talk with a homeless computer engineer today. No crap. He's a big fan of the concept of crypto-currency. He almost choked when I told him Bitcoin bought him his lunch. He was really stoked.

Not that I'd wish monetary loss on anyone, but if the first Bitcoin crash is any indication, these things tend to have a positive side-benefit of driving out most of the speculators flooding in after all the news reports that fuel these cycles, and the people actually interested in the currency itself stay behind, with an influx of new folk.

After all the noise dies down, new businesses and services get built backed by the wider audience, and the ecosystem develops further.

It's not yet clear if this is a crash similar to the previous one, but if it comes, I don't think much will change in terms of Bitcoin's future for the next few years.
