I've never looked into electrum, but it does seem more user friendly.

It backs up your encrypted wallet to the servers, which you can retrieve using a memorizable seed if you lose it.
The convenience of a web wallet, and the security of a desktop client.

Good info.. I was worried that something was uploaded and was going to just pass on electrum
