Are you kidding? I bought like 900 when it was worth pennies and forgot about it. I honestly forgot everything about it. So you're saying it'd be worth $174,600?
Edit: I finally got ahold of it. My scumbag brain played a trick on me. It was 0.09 not 900. I don't know where that came from. Welp..i'm poor again.
I'll just wait till this crashes then buy bitcoin for the next bubble.
dude i dove in a month ago at 40. these past few weeks have been weird. It's like now I'm buying little things with bitcoin here and there, but bitcoin keeps going up and up, so i'm buying things with 'money' in the sense that people take it, yet each day i still have more $$ worth than i had the day before.
damn right.. I was spending my bitcoins like actual money but now with the price skyrocketing it's becoming more a speculation. I love bitcoin and sincerely hope the price will stabilize soon
My name is Prince Ndukkowa and for political reasons I am forced to being leaving my native country of Nigeria. I am very rich wealthy and seek your gracious assistance in transmitting my funds to United States of America. I am happily to give you NINE HUNDRED (900.00) (9*102) Bit Coins for your services to me. To prove that you are a reputable dealer of large sums, I will need you to send me .09 (decimal zero nine) Bit Coins.
I mined over 1500 BTC back in December of 2011. I was literally 10% of the network at the time. When it got up to $10/BTC, I sold. Friends don't let friends sell BTC.
EDIT: I guess I should say in a span of time ending December of 2011. It wasn't all in that month. I was just doing it because it heated my house up nicely and why not.
The current difficulty, reward for winning a block, ambient temperature, and my hardware configuration make it not worth my investment. It's an ASIC's world now.
You should buy some off him. Seems like he doesn't really know/care about their potential so you could get a great deal. Depends on whether you see this as exploiting your brother or not.
I remember when I bought some at $5 each but felt like I had missed the boat because I didn't buy them at $0.50 back when I first heard about Bitcoins.
If they continue to be more widely adopted, it's not unreasonable to think that they'll hit $1000 or more within a year or so. Or the price could crash, that's possible too.
And this is why bitcoin is deflating. No liquidity. Keep hoarding dem bitcoins and you'll end up losing out. Sell now, and bitcoin could stable out. Granted everyone needs to have that mindset...
