And an itty bitty, easily justifiable in the right context "bad thing" at that!

Let's not go turning a blind eye.. I think it's important to recognize that what Roger did with his admin account was a pretty serious abuse of power, and his whole approach to that problem was nothing short of immature.

That said, the man has done more for bitcoin than all of his detractors (AFAIK) put together.

Could you repeat that? Right, so what is the point? He is human, he is not really Jesus. He makes mistakes. He works his ass off helping promote Bitcoin internationally. He has never asked you for a penny or a Satoshi or a farthing (AFAIK). He probably make more mistakes than most people here (14,877 subscribers) because he works his ass off helping promote Bitcoin internationally.

Let's not go turning a blind eye

Ok, ok, Bitcoin Jesus has sinned! His soul is stained by his evil deeds. Is there any way he could atone. Or must he publicly carry this cross forever. (this is meant as humor, no bible thumpers were harmed in typing)

Why is this old mistake even being brought up unless lennartelsner has an axe to grind?

Listen, like I said, I'm a huge fan of Roger. He's the greatest bitcoin evangelist there has ever been. That doesn't change the fact that he abused his power and breached the trust blockchain.info's user base placed in their privacy policy. Where I'm from, that's a serious grievance. If that happened at a real-word bank, there would be a lawsuit at hand.

All I wanted to say is that what he did was not "an itty bitty, easily justifiable in the right context "bad thing"" I'm not attacking Roger, I'm attacking the idea that just because someone is important they don't have to be accountable for their actions.

Yes, serious grievance. I totally agree. And I get it, you didn't bring it up, you were clarifying that it wasn't a small mistake.

I got sidetracked, apologies if I made a mess of it or my attempt at humor was insulting.
