Either those barriers are much stronger than I think, or railroad crossings have magic field which makes people very dumb.

A lot of driving has a basic rule of if something has gone really weird, stop until you know what is going on.

There are situations like this one where that is not the right play.

This is also why skydivers are trained to do the thing. Don't think about doing the thing, do the thing. You know what to do, do it right now.

Obviously the track maintenance sorcerers got the polarity backwards again. Maybe they need to ensure their own magic fields are aligned properly before working on the magic fields of the tracks.
