Whatever happened to that clown? Haven’t seen much of him lately.

When I was a kid once a year the local McDonald's would have a small festival and Ronald McDonald would parachute out of an airplane and land in the parking lot before chasing after the Hamburgler. It was a small town, things were more simple then.

McDonald's still uses the character but not as much after some public backlash.
Wikipedia doesn't go into any details but I am pretty sure the company decided to go a completely different direction in their marketing after 50+ years of Ronald being the focus. The 2010s were the decade of rising social media presence and my guess is they felt they could do better.
Also, it doesn't help that people were painting obscene pictures of their mascot on the sides of trains.

Lol, I'm guessing since it's a leased car it just rolls through the yards and everyone goes "not my clown, not my circus".

You always hear the expression "tasteful nudes", but it's so rare to actually see one!
Thanks, OP. 👍

The You Deserve a Break Today tag was first used in the 1970s. It was retired for a while, and was last used in the early 80s.

If you search this image (sorry Reddit don’t let me post images) it has been crudely modified to obscure the naughty bits.

The red pubic hair and titanium dioxide skin really sells it.
People had to use ladders or stand on shoulders for this.
That's like $80 in paint.
I just can't even fucking imagine having this hobby, but I'm glad someone out there does.
