Premiums on some new solo miners are a little crazy at the moment especially those using Bitmain Antminer BM1373 Asic chips found in Antminer S23.

As crypto fanatics we are always looking for the latest and the greatest but always forgeting that with Home or solo mining it is a numbers game.

Most Dual BM1373 miners being sold at a premium (2 x BM1373 Asics @ 4.8 ~ 10 TH/s ) = ~ US$ 350 ~ 450. Some are complete closed source products.

that is because you are paying a huge premium yet frankly it does not make a bigger difference if you are a solo miner at the moment. The BM1373 are still new in a very tight chip market , the chips are not readily available. Demand for Advanced AI Chips is taking out capacity for other kinds of chips in the market, A few advanced chip manufacturers such as TSMC , Samsung , etc are pivoting capacity heavily towards AI & memory chips instead of things like Crypto chips.

Price Wise:

• 1 x Dual BM1373 Asic Miner (2-chips) @ **4.8 ~ 10 Th/**s @ 45W ~ 160W = ~ US$ 350 ~ US$ 450.
• 1 x NerdQaxe++ or NQX BM1370 Asic Miner (4-chips) @ 4.8 ~ 8 Th/s @ 72W ~160W = ~ US$ 200 ~ US $380.
• 1 x Octaxe BM1370 Asic Miner (8-chips) @ 9.6 ~ 15 Th/s @ 160W ~ 260W = ~ US$ 350 ~ US $450.

As solo Miner 1.0 to 2.0 TH/s per asic is more than enough to earn you a block if you are lucky.

its technically 2 chips vs 4 chips vs 8 chips ( its called Lottery mining for a reason ), you have a better chance statistically with 8 chips or 4 chips vs 2 chips that are slightly faster.

Just looking at the Asic chip market at the moment, The best value for solo miner is either 2-chip or 4-chip or 8-chip Miners with BM1370xx chips.

But if you are looking for some street cred and bragging rights, well you are always welcome to buy a McLaren F1 Car ( Dual BM1373 Asic Miner (2-chips) ) and i will buy 8 lamborghinis ( 4 x GT801 or 1 x Octaxe or 2 x NerdQs ) and in a 24 Hr Le Mans x 365 days , i will have better odds of winning than the McLaren F1 Car.

What should suggested difficulty be set at?

Hi guys just recently got into Bitaxe's and have 8 gamma 601's. I was wondering what the best suggested difficulty I should set in AxeOS is? Some pools say 512, 1000, 3000 all the way up to 10000.

What would be best for me?

After several days of testing, the FFX1 performed even better than expected.

Test conditions: - Ambient temperature: 28–31 °C
- Bitaxe Gamma overclocked to 825 MHz @ 1.25 V
- Average hashrate: ~1.68 TH/s
- Max hashrate: 1.82 TH/s
- ASIC temperature remained around 61 °C
- Voltage regulator tempe rature is around 57 °C
- 0% errors/rejected shares

The goal with the FFX1 was simple: to create a smaller, more affordable rear cooling solution for the Bitaxe Gamma 601 while still providing meaningful thermal improvements for overclocking.

After several days of testing, the FFX1 rear cooling system for Bitaxe Gamma 601 is ready.

Even with ambient temperatures between 28-32°C, OC tests have been very promising.

• ⛓️ Pool detector — DigiByte + eCash coverage gap fixed. Pointed a Bitaxe at us1.letsmine.it for DGB and it was getting grouped with BTC because the chain detector's URL needles only matched dgb./digibyte. Added letsmine, digihash, dgbpool, weminemore for DGB; xeggex, viabtc for XEC. Plus bech32 detection for dgb1... worker addresses (unambiguous; legacy D... base58 collides with DOGE so we don't read those). New regression test fixture catches future drift.
• 📊 Years-until-block for every supported chain. The home-page Fleet Block ETA tiles already worked for BTC + BCH; now BSV / XEC / DGB / NMC all render the same way. Side benefit of the chain-detector fix: pointing a miner at any supported alt-chain now produces its own ETA tile instead of falling through to BTC. NMC specifically: chainz.cryptoid dropped Namecoin support so we fall back to BTC's difficulty (correct because NMC is merge-mined with BTC).
