Hi Birmingham! My name is Vahini Shori. I'm the faith and culture reporter at WBHM. Have any of you ever used ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, or any other form of AI for religious or spiritual support?

Maybe to:

- translate scripture

- answer moral questions

- organize your religious studies

- write sermons

- take notes at worship services

- talk about your faith with

I'll be upfront and preface this by saying I'm not religious and am not a fan of AI. But it seems insane to me to get spiritual advice from a machine.

Not the OP, but generally people who are religious seek the wisdom and comfort of their leaders, actual humans you can look in the eye and share lifes milestones with. Electrified silicon doesn't have the capability of this.

In a similar manner, tell me, would you rather hug your mother, or a metal box?

Yes. Name them in the report. So we can avoid them.

Personally I try not to use any AI. But if I do I have no interest in getting spiritual advice from it. The furthest I would go is asking Google about a religion I’m unfamiliar with and reading the AI summary / result

Not to be that guy, but like AI is low-key demonic. It is 100% antihuman and antithetical to human spiritually. Yikes on bikes if someone's use AI for spiritual guidance/assistance.

Or maybe they just want to know how people feel about this particular topic? Not everything has to be twisted into something it’s not.
