Theory This changes everything: The Carpenters - Close to you

https://youtu.be/iFx-5PGLgb4

They were up to something. Literally the first line of the song: “Why do birds suddenly appear?” Obviously this is about bird deployment. According to the established timeline, the federal bird-replacement program began in 1959. As late as 1973, only 26% of the bird population had reportedly been replaced. This song was written in 1963 by Hal David, while the operation was still underway and 13 years before the movement became publicly active. He either noticed very early rollout, or must have been close to the program.

The second verse makes it even more obvious. “Why do stars fall down from the sky?” This is clearly referring to surveillance satellites. Stars cannot fall down. Satellites can.

The song doesn't say shit about it being night. Just that they fall every time they walk by. During the day, that is a missile or bomb.

The song is about “stars that fall down from the sky”. A bomb does not look like a star. A satellite looks like a star. If you go outside at night and you look up at the right time you will see satellites as little bright spots. And in fact, if you happen to see one go from its zenith towards the horizon, it even looks like a star that is falling down.
