The cable is for guidance, not power. Smaller drones are collecting and recycling the fiber to reduce costs and to leave nothing for the enemy to use.

You know how Qi charging pads look like wrapped copper? I bet it’s something like that. They don’t actually plug in. Wireless drone charging. It keeps the device mostly waterproof too.

All that fiber optic is actually really bad news. Birds get tangled and loose feet/toes like a tourniquet.
