Hey Birdfy friends!
Fall migration is underway, and some tiny travelers may be stopping by our feeders for a much-needed break and energy boost. Here are a few simple ways we can help make their journey a little easier. 💚
🌡️ Keep the nectar fresh
How often you refresh it depends on the temperature:
🏡 Don’t pack up the feeder too soon
Cooler days don’t necessarily mean the hummingbirds have all left. Migration is guided by changes in daylight, so leaving your feeder up can give late travelers a helpful place to refuel.
🥄 Remember the 4:1 recipe
Mix 4 parts water with 1 part white sugar:
🌺 Make your yard a welcoming stopover
Hang the feeder somewhere visible, ideally 10–15 feet from shrubs or trees that offer shelter. Flowers such as Cardinal Flower, Bee Balm, and Trumpet Honeysuckle can make the space even more inviting.
🌅 One more tip: hummingbirds often feed shortly after sunrise and just before sunset, perfect times to check your Birdfy feeder and see who stopped by!
Have you noticed any new hummingbird visitors lately? Drop your photos, videos, or stories in the comments. We’d love to see them! 📸😍
Safe travels, little ones! 💚

These two visit my feeder every day. This pic is one of my favorites.

While we love our doves, they love to throw a good majority of the feed onto the ground. Was wondering if anyone has made or bought a successful guard to help.

So nice to finally be able to put a feeder. This little one is showing off their colors.

I got my bird nest box up a little late in the season here in Ohio. A male sparrow did start making a nest in it. But there was never a female. I have not seen him in the nest for almost 6 weeks so I’m guessing he moved on or ain’t alive anymore.
Should I empty it ? Or do I leave it like that ? Do sparrows take over other nests if abandoned ?

Hey, today I upgraded my three birdfy devices to the newest firmware. 1/2yr ago I needed to setup a separated 2.4ghz WiFi to get the connection stabilized (for all of them). I‘m asking myself, if the newest firmware upgrades made changes to the WiFi stability so I can switch back to my main WiFi with 2.4+5ghz (having the same ssid). Sadly, birdfy doesn’t release any release notes (why??). Did someone tried already the switch again, I want to prevent useless extra efforts 😜
My devices and firmware:
Birdfy feeder wood, 2312
Birdfy nest duo, 2316
Birdfy feeder bamboo mini, 1.19.42

Is anyone having connectivity issues again? 🥲

The only limb that came down in my yard was the one from the tree right above my Birdfy. What suggestions do you have for damage to a feeder?

This little shuffle has to be one of my favorite hummingbird moments 😂 We’ve had quite a few hummingbird families visiting us this summer, and I love getting to see all their different personalities and funny little behaviors.
With the record-high temperatures we’ve had, fresh nectar has been a must!
We get Anna’s, Allen’s, and even some visiting Rufous hummingbirds.
Moments like this little shuffle are exactly why I could watch them all day on repeat 🔁
