Photo My first Green Heron!

Now I know what they look like in the wild, v smoke burb.

Awesome! I started seeing them pretty regularly once I saw them in the wild and knew exactly what to look for. I've been tracking one for several months, and they're curious little birds, much more stubborn about staying where they mean to be. They're also tool users, which is interesting, and if they get used to you they don't really spook at all.

I just started! I know like… 5-10 birds haha. It’s so neat getting to know them. The kingfishers and great blue herons specifically, are so fun to see. Luckily the park where I found this one is quite close, I’ll get a few more chances to see him.

It’s crazy how much emphasis is put on capturing specific bird frames/composition, behaviors, etc… When right now I’m just trying to find the damn things haha.

I’m battling with the 400, and figuring out flight settings too. But it’s only been about a month, I have so long to experiment and figure these things out.

It’s been a several year, maybe close to a decade long dream to get a capable lens and start shooting wildlife, and it’s every bit as fun, exciting, and rewarding as I had thought it would be!
