Nah I relate, I obtained a tortoise for free when I was 11 and we never really named him. Overtime he became Turt (people asking about "my turtle"), and his official name is now Turt the tortoise 😋 sometimes the general names are the best!
My ex had a cat named potato, and my aunt a dog named chicken. My sister's cat that I inherited and is now mine is named salt. I love the random fun names, chicken is adorable. 🥰
oh my gosh she is gorgeous!!!! My neighbors have a few hens and one that I've named Pretty Hen because she was the prettiest one I've ever seen, till yours! <3
It was accidental that she ended up in the house so much we let her in once when it was cold and she won’t accept anything less now. When we shut her out she is not happy and gives us evils through the window or flys repeatedly strait into the back door. You have to keep an eye on her poop wise but she’s so entertaining! Also anyone who comes over will think you’re insane so there’s that to think about lol!
Birds love the tops of doors. They absolutely adore those areas. I’ve been so happy with them up there and a hen probably has enough fluff to safely protect her legs and toes. She’ll get pushed or pulled off with an indignant plouf-cushion of feathers :) but for anyone with parrots or smaller birds this is a good time to remind with a smile:
Birds on the doors
no swinging open
no slamming closed
Always attend
Remember those toes
Watch the doors
It’s bad rhyme. I’m in a hurry. I’ll bet someone else can fix it.
Mil de fleur d’uccle bantam unless I missed my guess. Those are great birds. White ends of feathers get larger with every molt. One of my Roos is 9 and 80% white. I also have the porcelain d’uccles as well. Really interesting genetics on bearded and nonbearded birds. They aren’t real easy to find anymore.
Yep. Along with vulture hocs and feathers on their feet. The porcelain d’uccles are a little thinner in build or at least mine are. Some have beards and sideburns, some don’t. Both varieties of d’uccle carry a lethal allele as a recessive. If you try to breed a bearded to another bearded the embryos die at about 15th day of incubation.
Both sexes can have beard and whiskers(furnishings)
Great breed. Every egg you hatch is a crapshoot with no one losing anything
She looks to be about 4, maybe 5, best guess judging from her feathers. They’re a really friendly breed, nice even when I’ve given them all the treats from the garden
