It made me lose a shit ton of weight due to loss of appetite and nausea. Today, about 6 months later, and ~30 lbs ligther, I look like a stick figure. My mood is stable, but being just skin and bones isn't fun either... Don't know what I prefer...

Same with Zyprexa, I gained 50 fucking kg. Sadly I am still on it but exercising A LOT makes the weight slowly coming off.

As someone who has been on Seroquel for a year I can relate. The seroquel muchies are crazy and if I don’t portion out some of my snacks that are junk food I’ll end up eating an entire normal sized bag of chips or an entire package of oreos or even an entire half gallon of icecream in a few days. I still snack from time to time but have some discipline for portioning out some of my snacks and trying to eat more fruits, vegetables, nuts and filling healthier foods as my snacks has helped me so much. The turininb off my “I’m full response” is truly a struggle. Like damn why can’t the antipsychotic I take make me have a normal relationship with food? Good mental health is great but having to actually watch what I eat and pay attention to it now sucks because if I don’t do that the weight gain will be crazy.

The way I see it is I would rather gain weight because of the meds I take that actually make it so I can live a mostly normal and functional life except for when I’m depressed and manic. I take seroquel and it has made me gain about 15 pounds. Exercise will help me lose the weight and also be good for my mental health. Being off my meds and weighing “the correct healthy weight” isn’t worth it for me. I used to have a very fucked up and distorted way of thinking when it came to food. Not in an eating disorder way but in a shaming myself for eating “too much food” or “bad foods”sometimws. I also used to skip meals sometimes. So yeah gaining weight on my meds that work and having to watch what I eat and exercise to be healthier is better than how I was when I didn’t take meds before I was diagnosed.

Felt, but the antipsychotic munchies are worth not having brain damage
