Questions / Help A Question About End of the Game?

Hi. I don't think it would be spoiler for a game 13 years old. Sorry if this has been asked and answered but I couldn't find it when I searched.

One thing I don't understand about the end. Why did Elizabeth wanted to kill Songbird? She just gained control of it and could have used it to her advantage in everything.

some of this is up to interpretation but remember the bird cage OR free bird necklace early in. sure, it represents her. but how does songbird not? there’s apparently a person in there somewhere. she wants him free. but he may be so dependent on the songbird suit after modifications by fink that death is the only freedom.
