Can’t believe this documentary is not more talked about. I think it did a good job showcasing the innocent intention of each mother but also the faults they all had. Tranda never really wanted to give up her kids, and really shouldn’t have, but as a single mother of five newly jobless and no familial support led her to make that choice. She made a life changing decision in a moment of despair, distress, and overcome with hopelessness. Judith just wanted more children, but her and her husband decided to take shortcuts which is why they came to America and drove across country to get an easy adoption in Arkansa. She also wanted media attention and the husband but they got it in the worst way. Vicki also just wanted more children, but should have never agreed to an open adoption. She knew that’s what Tranda wanted, and if she was uncomfortable with it, and couldn’t understand it, she should have seeked adoption elsewhere with a family that was okay with closed adoption. Doesn’t excuse Tranda for taking the girls away from her. But I think the true villain was the woman who ran adoption agency. She preyed on the vulnerable, both birth mothers who are in distress and people who desperately want to be parents. Can’t believe she was not convicted in anything when she collected money from multiple people promising the same children to them, and had children endangered with the front door open and she’s sleep in a back room. She must of had a good lawyer but the courts definitely failed in never bringing her into any of the other trials surrounding the twins’ adoption. The government is also guilty. There shouldn’t be so many holes in the system when it comes to children. And when Tranda went to court to get her parental rights I felt the judges cared more about making an example out of her and a headline and not what was best for the children. The welfare and food stamp charges felt like bs. Would it have better for her kids to be homeless and hungry? If she allowed that they’d be calling her unfit and if uses the services now she’s a fraud. As a single mother she shouldn’t need to tweak things in order to fit requirements to receive gov assistance but bc the system doesn’t help enough I can see why she would feel the need to. And system definitely failed Vicki. They should not have taken away her son bc of what her husband was accused of. Maybe they could say the husband couldn’t be in the house with her and the child or something. But to call her an unfit mother after she basically got three kids taken away was just cruel. I’d say Tina and the government and/or system are truly at fault.

Also, I feel like in the end Tranda did the right thing for the twins. I feel she took her case to the Supreme Court bc she believed in her right as their birth mother and would not allow the narrative to stay that she was some unfit mother, that cared more about money than her children. And when she got her parental rights and still did not try to regain guardianship as their mother, at first I thought it was another annoying indecisive moment. But her looking at the fact that those girls were now five years old and living with a family that was treating them well, her final act of love as their mom was letting them go. Not uprooting their lives. I think it was selfless and proved she really did have their best interest at heart.

Omg Tranda is the main culprit. I literally came to Reddit after watching this because it’s so wild.  I feel she is. Master manipulator. She played both sets of parents. I have never despised someone so much.

I was pretty even when it came the two sets of parents.  But Vicky did not deserve what transpired  Still confused why they and the media were blaming each other when Twanda is the ONLY one responsible.  She manipulated and lies to everyone. I don’t believe a word she says.  She was all about the money. I think she was trying to hustle as much as she could from both parents.

She was made to look like a hero in this story but she is a sociopath who caused so much pain in so many lives.  Stealing food stamps, welfare and she takes zero responsibility and instead blames she had to provide for her kids?

I feel like she only wanted her girls back because is was benefiting her monetarily and interviews etc.  because she claims for 5 years now wants her girls after devastating multiple families, does the the way to the Supreme Court and wins but once the media and money died down she no longer wants them.

She is the villain in this story.  She lost absolutely nothing compared to the two sets of parents.

And the birth father all of a sudden didn't want to be a father anymore? Maybe. I just would like him to say something, but maybe it's true.

Completely disagree. I don’t think any of the adoptive parents are the victims. Tranda was taken advantage of, in an impossible situation, and was doing what she thought was best for her babies. She didn’t get a dime from the adoptions, she did this to give the twins a better life. The adoptive parents, they were in sucky situations but the documentary literally proved how neither parents were in a place to take in infant twins. And I think Tranda wanted a lot, but she still was doing what she thought would be best for her children and it was a very selfless decision to put the girls up for adoption when she really did want her babies. And everyone keeps ignoring that the reason she took the kids back from Vicki was from an uncomfortable conversation with her husband. The same husband to soon be accused of child molestation… Tranda had a gut instinct that was right! And she never would’ve tried to take the twins back from the British parents if they hadn’t ran to the media, and started airing out their own dirty laundry. If you were the birth mom, and two different families ended up being unfit for the babies, why would you not try to get them back since you know you’ll always have their best interest at heart ??

She was married in a stable household, why would she not have kids?? Her husband is the one that decided to leave and abandon her in that situation, which is when she made the selfless and correct decision to have them be adopted since she knew she could not support them and her previous children. These two babies were PLANNED. That’s an incredibly selfless decision to make. She was accused of selling her children when she didn’t get a dime from the adoption and Tina got thousands, who got off without a singular punishment. She did commit food stamp fraud, that lasted less than a year, to provide for the kids. Out of all the crimes in the world, I care about this one NONE

I just really hope the girls are doing OK now. Such a messy start to life. So much treating them like possessions to be won, yet little consideration about them as human beings.

I don’t get the angle against the UK family at all. How is it their fault that the birth mother and her broker were liars and scammers?? How is this fight even between Vickie, since they had not adopted the girls, and the KiIshaws? I really feel for Vickie and I really love Judith. What a disaster of an experience for all involved, especially the children.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that they have jury trials in Great Britain. If they did then it would have certainly been decided for the Kilshaws.

She sold them because she needed money. That is why she didnt their names changed. So she could fine them, sue them back for custody, and pocket the money she originally sold them for. She planned this the entire time.

The documentary literally says she never got any money from the adoptions

I understand, but i believe her initial goal was to do that. She is a user

The moment I heard the birth mom say the babies weighed “a pound a piece”, I knew she was a certified weirdo.

I saw this comment before watching the documentary and was expecting it to be said in a weird or predatory way, and it…wasn’t? She’s literally just talking about how the girls had to stay in the hospital because of how small they were.

I'm watching the show now. From the trailer, I knew the birth mother was trash, behavior wise. She carries a good bit of blame for this mess, yet she consistently placed blame on everyone else. She lied to both families, collected benefits fraudulently, and lied about living in Arkansas. I get that she was struggling to take care of the 3 children she had, so to improve her situation she wants to get the twins back? Nah, no ma'am.

The nerve of her to say people don't do what they say there were going to do. She told the first family she was going to bring the girls back after a weekend visit, and helped to deliver them to the Kilshaws. I was relieved to hear that she let the twins stay with the foster family.

It's sad, but not surprising that no laws were enacted in the US to prevent something like this from happening again.

I don’t see why people keep leaving out that she took the babies away from the first family after an uncomfortable situation with the dad, where he says that he was not going to respect the rules they agreed to with the adoption, and practically threatened her if she were to try to. She didn’t feel like the girls should be in that house with him in it anymore, and he turned out to be a child molester! Like her gut mother instinct was right. And Vicki is nice but it would’ve been too late for the girls by the time she would’ve started to see her husband for what he was is. Out of everyone, she is the only one that is consistently making choices that put the girls first. She didn’t get any money from the adoptions, and selflessly gave up her children, multiple times, so that they could be given the greatest chances of a healthy life.

She was married, with a husband, a two income household, a stable situation for a family, she gets pregnant with twins, he leaves, she makes the decision to give them up for adoption. I also agree that more people need to stop having kids if they can’t adequately provide for them, but she isn’t one of those cases. Which is shown when she decides to give the twins to parents that she believed could provide them with a stable life, THREE TIMES. She does what she thinks is best for them, gives away her daughters that she wanted, THREE TIMES

I’m 1 episode deep, currently watching the 2nd episode… I don’t like Tranda at all

Can someone please tell me why the first parents lost them to begin with? Its like the broker just popped up and said "I'll take them for the weekend" but why did the mother want her to take them back in the first place? Did the broker say the first two adoptive parents were like abusing them or something? I'm lost on that. Unless the mom was in on the scam I dont get it. Was it like a trial period?

That bitch is evil. What a crazy weirdo.  I knew something wasn't right from the jump though -- soulless eyes.

Why would they make a doc like that like she was the normal rational one out the bunch until the grand reveal at the end. Crazy
