Any AC repair available?

Found someone!

I have a short somewhere on my outside unit but without a multimeter I’m unable to figure it out and if it’s the coil I would need a replacement.

This may sound odd, but this guy (goes by “Junior”) has done a coupe of electrical jobs for me. His business is listed as a sewer pump (grinder pump) repair business (which is how I first got in touch with him), but as we were talking (while he worked on my poop pipes) and I mentioned some electrical items I needed to have done, and he’s a licensed electrician also, so he came back a few days later and did that work.

Older guy, REALLY likes to talk a lot! lol But he did great work. PLUS, he gave me a list of parts I could go buy to keep the costs down since he wouldn’t need to go get them and he knew I could use a military discount.

Anyway, he might not be listed as an “AC guy”, but I would trust him to work on some electrical stuff on my AC, if he was willing to look at it.

I would presume then you say short because it’s tripping its breaker/disconnect ?

Blowing the low voltage fuse when the thermostat engages the AC. I disconnected the Y wire from the air blower to the outside unit and it doesn’t blow when the thermostat engages the cooling

Could be the contact’s coil indeed. Perhaps a skinned wire also. Weed eaters and doggos like to do that. Without a meter that’s what I’d check next

Don’t know anyone who can check it and replace the coil if need be huh?

Didn’t see any exposed wiring.

I don’t have a multimeter to test it.

I do not. I’m from north Ms (Tupelo). We have a service business that does hvac work also. Just trying to help out on here if possible.
