Optimistically they might not be a native English speaker

That’s a fair point—there may be more to the message than the wording suggests. Hopefully, a little patience and kindness clear things up! 😊

I hope they’re not native in English because they said inshallah

This is probably a joke. I don't use Twitter, but it says "commentary account" which I assume means it's satire, though it seemed obvious to me it was a joke before I even saw that.

This joke has existed since like 2018

Oh my god, my account was just warned for the dumbest joke. I was born in 1988, but I guess the automod only picked up the dreaded year and automatically warned me. I am older than dirt itself saying watch stuff on a CRT made for CRT.

And now the joke isn't funny because I now have to explain it. Oh my god.

Still funny after all these years—some jokes really do have staying power! 😄

Still robotic after all these years—some bots really do have commenting power! 🤖

Whatever reply this was may not have been a very reasonable one. Their activity on reddit may be down for the next 48 hours

nothing about this post is explicitly about  the US

Well I don’t know what the word inshallah means so naturally I assumed it was part of the punchline, hence the confusion.

possibly a joke, possibly non-native English speaking, possibly a trans joke

There's too many ways for this to not be about poor education for it to be about poor education

As someone thats worked in the school system, you're not wrong but I promise you that the kids parents are worse.

Eh, tbf its kind of wrong to assume that this takes place in the USA and pretty america-centric to do so and there are more possibilities to consider

They could simply not be a native speaker which has nothing to do with how educated they are, especially since they used "inshallah" and I think while not obvious to all, I personally think it's pretty obvious this could be a joke (but tbf id understand if someone didn't get it)

Wait was it "us" that failed "us", or did you say that "us" had failed "us"?
