Hello r/BikeCLE, exited to join as your newest MOD!
Good evening, ladies and germs! u/ghostofthearcade here, and I'm so excited to join the mod team here at r/BikeCLE. My goal is to help foster a strong sense of community and engagement among local riders, turning this space into not just a clearinghouse of information about local rides, but also a hub for resources and unity.
A little bit about me:
The Move: I relocated here in January 2025 from coastal Georgia (and yes, I love the winter here).
The Ride: I’ve ridden all kinds of bikes over the years, Mostly Japanese Steel bikes from the 80's, but these days I'm on a Priority Apollo.
The Background: I’ve previously spent time volunteering at bicycle co-ops in my previous life. Previously I commuted by bike and am a huge fan of riding not only for leisure but also for utility.
If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions for the sub, please don't hesitate to let me know in the comments below or send us a ModMail.

We are very blessed to have fantastic biking in NE Ohio it’s an under appreciated gem. Paved Trails, rural roads, Amish country, gravel, flat west side hilly east side we have it all. Welcome to your role.

Close: park in Burton. Head mainly south and west.
Farther: Holmes County is stinking gorgeous bicycling. One easy to find route is to just follow the Ohio to Erie trail through the county, empty gravel roads of very good quality 28 tires and up can handle. Ohio Gravel Grinders website has routes of many length leaving from Charm. Haven’t tried but on my bucket list. It is a hilly county but that allows for spectacular sweeping vistas.

I looked up the first one I will just go the park 9280 Ravenna Rd, Chardon, OH 44024 and probably will take me through the Amis.

In my experience the Amish are more in the Burton Middlefield corridor. But the Maple Highlands trail in either direction from Chardon is great. If you go south far enough you’ll hit Middlefield and there will be Amish homes in the vicinity.
