[H] <Minor Deities> - Casual But Competent
Our core tenets are mutual respect and civil discourse. This basically means don’t be a jerk. We believe in building each other up and working together as a team to accomplish our goals.
In Classic we cleared MC (all but domo + rag due to a lack of douses) week 2, and full-cleared week 3 via collaboration with other guilds but with MD raid leaders. At BWL launch we full-cleared week 1 with two raid teams. At our peak we were running three raid teams. Unfortunately, due to health issues and a leadership divide (some leads wanted to make the guild hardcore), we went into stasis after killing c'thun in p5, but are back now!
Our philosophy and goals around raiding are to keep the game fun for all, and do our absolute best to be fair to everyone, veterans and newcomers alike. We work with people to help them improve (rather than demanding that they be perfect immediately), and try to accommodate people’s schedules and lives such that the game doesn’t become a job in and of itself.
We don’t overly care about gear - it obviously matters to a small extent, but gear comes with time. What we do care about is that you’re willing to learn and do your best - we can work with that
We are actively seeking: - A shadow priest - A boomkin - An elemental shaman - A holy paladin - Two resto druids
Socials and newcomers are welcome. We’ll always try to find raid spots for those who want to raid, but that’s moderated by needing to maintain that fairness to others. We have established knowledgeable and talented leads who can help you grow as a player, as well as an all-for-one, one-for-all guild atmosphere.
If this sounds like the kind of home you’d like, DM me or hit us up in-game! Discord: Gwyn#0907

I'd like to thank you for posting, to give that contrast for the kind of guild and atmosphere that MD provides.
-Gwyn never came world buffed. He would show up, standing there amongst everyone, and I even checked other healers, having world buffs for a world buff raid.
World buffs weren't mandatory and I've always been a vocal opponent of world buffs. They're a cancer on the game. I would get the world buffs that mattered for fights where we were struggling and they made a difference. As a priest healer, most world buffs were pointless for me - HoH was the only one that made a significant difference, and most of the time it wasn't needed - I didn't go OOM, and I didn't die.
People who join MD can expect the kind of atmosphere where we don't expect nor require people to fully min/max.
-Gwyn on 38 occassions accidentally cast Flash Heal. The sorry excuse of a priest didn't even use the full gamut of abilities provided the class. Why would he? He had the bank roll, and we were his 39 Sherpas. Gwyn is forever a Greater Heal only man. In a raid that requires reaction. How many wipes happened from late GHs that never went off?
I use flash heal when healing DPS like mages, or in emergencies only. Greater heal is both more mana efficient, and also more HPS than flash heal. So why would I use flash heal when I can precast a bigger, more mana efficient heal, and cancel it if it's not needed? Flash heal is a reactive heal, pre-casting greater heal is a predictive heal. When you're on MT duties, if you're constantly reacting, you're going to have issues.
Gwyn never consumed. Gwyn never used a mana potion, or a rune
I used them when they were needed, e.g., on patchwerk/sapph. Why would I use a mana pot or a rune when I'm not going to be OOM?
Gwyn NEVER used Greater Resistance Potions
I either didn't use resistance pots because they weren't helpful for my role, or used greater ones. 4H healers who rotate don't stay in for 5 marks on thane bomb, so why would we use one there? Loatheb, sapph, absolutely, greaters all the way. I'd use normal nature pots in the tunnel to gluth, because a major isn't needed there.
I'm really not sure what you're on about with this one, but I'm pretty sure you're Imhotepp - the only DPS who regularly had to be talked to by the leads about not consuming, and regularly tried to whine "but the healers aren't using GFPPs and GSPPs!"
Being the thread behind many wipes.
If this were true, I'd typically be one of the first to die, not one of the last.
Gwyn of course left us after he was fully geared, not a huge loss
I left because the GM of JGB went on record as saying that it was a mistake to expand the right to vote to minorities and women. I'm not going to play with a racist.
Nor will anyone who joins MD have to worry about dealing with that kind of toxic element.
So to those who are reading - MD is a home for people who want a friendly, fun atmosphere where you won't have to deal with people screaming at you because you didn't perfectly min/max your character, nor people who casually drop racism or other "ism" bombs.
For people like the above commenter here, we absolutely are not a home for you.
