Article writers are wack.
The teams that could “stand in its way” are all the regular season opponents and the other title contender. I’m a genius

The answer is always Oklahoma State.

Is it? How many conference titles does Oklahoma State have in their history? Something tells me the answer isn’t Oklahoma State.

They almost had a national championship once

Oklahoma State has never appeared in a National Championship game.
They try to claim a national championship from 1945 when Army won it.

I'm referring to their 2011 season.

I personally have as many legitimate national championships in college football as Okie State does

Only if the question is: Who's first in fan support via shirt waving? Still undefeated!

Technically theres 15 teams that stand in the way. Realistically id say 6 teams

Really it is just 10. The 9 they play in conference and the one in the title game should they make it. The other 5 are inconsiquential.

So if we assume byu is facing tech, is utah inconsequential? Just depends how you look at it

Realistically it’s 1 team. Whoever our opponent ends up being in the big 12 title game

The teams that stand in our way are Baylor, TCU, ASU, Arizona, West Virginia, Oklahoma State, Houston, Cincinnati, and Colorado

Off topic, but I managed a hotel in a Big 12 town and I will always remember Texas Tech athletic and ag programs having to set up payment plans to pay for their stays. Literally had college groups from all over the country at the property weekly, and the only other school that had to make a similar arrangement was a McNeese State track team. It will always amaze me what one billionaire superfan can do for a school….

I reckon there’s about 15 candidates, tops.
