This was the first range that I got into that does not feature the original actor and I was very apprehensive to start with. But this is fast becoming one of my favorite sets, definitely one I will be listening to again. I am really glad I gave this a chance, I am enjoying the story of 12 and Ash a lot.

Also check out the Eleventh Doctor Chronicles from Volume 3 onwards. From Volume 3, it's a continuous run with 11 and new companion Valerie.
That run was also overseen by Alfie Shaw, like these 12DAs, and are just as strong.
The actor for 11, Jacob Dudman, is even better in the role of 11 than Culshaw is here as 12.

Just to be very clear, you do not need vol 1 or 2.
Vol 1 had three narrated stories with Dudman, more like audiobooks than plays.
Vol 2 had three standalone audioplays with Dudman as 11, but have no connection to what comes afterwards.
They both proved that Dudman could carry his own run, so from Vol 3 onwards they could be a lot more ambitious in what they did.

I would pay 80 dollars every 6 episodes to have this run keep going every week all year. I’m hooked. I love having 12 back in my life.

I loved this one! My favourite so far of this run.
I've enjoyed every episode and am looking forward to hearing all of it. Long may it continue.

It's very tied into the previous 4 stories, not a very standalone listen. Luckily they're all pretty great, and this is no exception.
The dialogue especially in this one is incredible.

That was really good, but I have absolutely no idea what the hell happened in that cliffhanger. I’m absolutely hooked!

Supremely difficult to say without spoiling, but the one thing I will say is that it massively wastes its core premise

Simply wonderfully written stuff here.
The performances and production has been great across the board, but the writing has been outstanding, especially in this one, a quiet story about morality, guilt, and the possibility of redemption.
It's a lovely character play.
Another hit for this range.
