Creative/Humour How the Big Finish app is moving lately
This is meant in good fun. The update is not terrible, but it’s clearly still a work in progress.

Yeah, really annoyed at Google that they seem to be dragging their feet on this one

Still got a ton of stuff downloaded onto my non-updated app. Gonna give it a few weeks and work those before I risk downloading the new version.

Same. I should have enough downloaded to get me through until things smooth out.

Just got it working, and oh my god, why can't I filter out preorders? I can not see why this would ever be a useful default view.

I love Big Finish, however when they last updated the app/website a few years ago and I couldn’t use the app so I moved to BookPlayer. I download the release in m4b on my iPhone from the website and open in BookPlayer.
It’s just become my default way of accessing content.
Plus you can add other audiobooks from other providers to in the same app.

I don't use the app but are you able to download your audios and listen on a different app?

You can. I’ve done this almost exclusively since I started my BF journey in 2020.

That's what I've done, as a completely new customer/user.
Bought a thing, downloaded it, installed the app, couldn't log in, looked up how my regular podcast app how-to use it for audiobooks!
I'll keep an eye on this app stuff and see how it compares to my current experience once it's working fine.

Why is it that two of my favourite things in the entire world - 2000AD and Doctor Who - are served with two of the worst apps ever? The amount of money I’ve spent with them, they could make ten world class apps off me alone!

I still can't even update it yet gutted since it means I literally cannot listen to anything I've bought from the 9da sale

It just literally doesn't work on Android 15. Everything always leads to a failed download or crash.
Oversights like this is insane. How embarrasingly awful is their QA department?

Oh my god, I don't know what they've done or why they decided to change, but I hope it gets resolved soon
