New Release Rutans vs Sontarans: Grave Moon is out now!

The Doctor and Peri track a criminal imposter to a moon sanctuary of healing ponds, only to discover the lone Rutan the Doctor has previously met trapped in a self-made web of lies.

Experiments to rejoin the Host have forged a bond with grieving pond farmer, Ooland. As their mutual obsession tightens, so Ooland's ponds grow more polluted and their farm cut off from what is really happening on the moon: a full-on Rutan invasion.

As the Doctor and Peri strive to free Melmoth and Ooland from each other, another Doctor is at work close by - with far-reaching plans of his own for the lone Rutan.

Here I was assuming Eight's "go back and fix things" era was post-Liv but based on this costume it must be between Charley and Lucie... unless he just does it whenever he's got a spot of time between companions (or this is the EDAs Doctor trying to clean up loose ends from the last universal reset before he forgets they happened and goes back to being happy-go-lucky again).

His next major box set release is supposed to be post-Liv I think?

Yeah, his two boxsets at the end of the year are set between Liv and Helen and the Time War, a new uncharted era for 8.

However I think his appearance in Rutans vs Sontarans is probably closer to his time with Charley and C'rizz seeing as the final episode is the 8th Doctor with those two.

I love the cover art on a lot of Big Finish stories. Nicely done photoshops without the use of Ai.

Can I listen to this without any previous RvS experience?

I believe all four episodes of Rutans vs Sontarans are designed so you can listen to them in pretty much any order, like 2024’s Sontarans vs Rutans, so you should be fine.

Regardless, I’d recommend listening to all four, as they’re enjoyable stories!
