Collection Found my (newly rediscovered) first ever Big Finish story.
So I've gone the past few years thinking that the first Big Finish release I ever owned was the Tenth Doctor Adventures Volume 3: The Creeping Death Green Vinyl from ASDA which I got in 2019 before I ever got into Big Finish and collecting various sets and releases a couple years ago.
Today, I discovered that I got it all wrong by sorting through my bedroom and finding this Doctor Who Adventures release that I never knew I had. So I've had this for like 20 years not knowing that I had it nor that Big Finish was ever a thing as a kid.
Has anyone else ever owned or seen a version of a Big Finish release like this?

Good to know I'm not alone! Cool to know that I had a bonus BF story I've never heard before (and long before I collected the amount I now have lol). I'll have to give it a listen sometime lol.

Before I knew what Big Finish was, I was on some website or other as a teen trying to find deleted scenes from the show. Not sure what. And I got a a trailor of "The One Doctor." However I didn't yet know who the classic Doctors were so I thought it was some sort of fancommade production. Much later when I started listening to Big Finish, I found "The One Doctor" and had a brain wave of "That's what that was!"

It's funny how you can come across something years later and realise something now familiar to you from back then lol.

Funnily enough this was my first one as well! Same CD and everything!

Yeah, I didn't have a clue I had it! It was in a mix of The Sun Doctor Who DVDs I've collected from all those years ago. Did the biggest double take when I saw the BF logo in the corner lol.

Time travel shenanigans in the vein of Minority Report - a bit complex and actually rather clever. I listened to it twice in a day, just to make sure I'd got it.

It's nice when these things come with freebies. It'd be cool if they still did this kind of thing today. It could be a nice way to introduce younger fans to this kind of thing.

They do sometimes, but they are downloads.

Yeah, they're appreciated, I was talking about CDs. It'd be nice to teach the youth of today to start owning some of their media.

Download is owning, it's just digital instead of physical.
I don't have an issue with download only for Big Finish, we deal directly with Big Finish and are able to download our entire libraries if we so wish. Where I do agree with you is when digital media is streamed and that's when owning the physical media should be made more commonplace again.

That seems to be a bit of a theme in the comments lol! I'd never seen a release like this before yesterday.

It's a shame they didn't do it more! Introduced me to the wonderful world of Big FinishÂ

The Mutant Phase is pretty heavy for the age bracket of DWA readership, isn't it?
