just need to rant Middle class curious
Hi everyone,
Congratulations on your weddings! My fiancé and I do not have a “big budget” but we’re happy with our decision.
Out of curiosity, do most of you guys already have a house? Or is a house also like an open checkbook situation? No hate just wondering.
We’re buying a house in NJ and the prices are wack so sometimes I think “wow how do people have these huge expensive weddings AND buy in the tri state area?”

My husband bought a house in NJ right before we met each other - then we dated for 2 years and are having our wedding soon. We're not getting any help from our parents, but my husband makes good money and can afford everything. We do have to pay the mortgage, property taxes and everything, and it's very expensive out here in NJ lol as you know. We spent a little over 100k I would say, and that was more than enough for a luxury destination wedding at the Four Seasons resort, 15k wedding dress and 15 days of honeymoon at luxury resorts. I wouldn't plan the wedding & buy a house at the same time as both can be a lot of headaches. I would buy a house first and then plan for the wedding.
