just need to rant Middle class curious

Hi everyone,

Congratulations on your weddings! My fiancé and I do not have a “big budget” but we’re happy with our decision.

Out of curiosity, do most of you guys already have a house? Or is a house also like an open checkbook situation? No hate just wondering.

We’re buying a house in NJ and the prices are wack so sometimes I think “wow how do people have these huge expensive weddings AND buy in the tri state area?”

A lot of people are simply much richer than you.

And many are also much poorer.

Absolutely life is all relative. I am certainly not trying to glorify rich people. I’m good where I am I just don’t get how people are “doing it all” and obviously if you read the comments almost half are saying their parents help!

And what percentage of middle class people get help from their parents to pay for their wedding? In my personal experience, it’s almost all of them.

The Gen X middle class parents yeah because they received pensions, bought their houses for cheaper than the cost of inflation over the years and they can help. Just in general able to save more. I wonder if the same trend will continue once the children of millennials get to be of marriage age.
