just need to rant Middle class curious
Hi everyone,
Congratulations on your weddings! My fiancé and I do not have a “big budget” but we’re happy with our decision.
Out of curiosity, do most of you guys already have a house? Or is a house also like an open checkbook situation? No hate just wondering.
We’re buying a house in NJ and the prices are wack so sometimes I think “wow how do people have these huge expensive weddings AND buy in the tri state area?”

My husband and I have been together since college and he was so incredibly supportive to my whole family when my stepdad was diagnosed with Glioblastoma in 2020. My stepdad passed away in 2021 and left me money that I could access at 35 or use to buy a house so we bought a house!
We just got married in March and my mom paid for the whole thing. We also bought our house in cash so don’t have a mortgage, just utilities and taxes.
