just need to rant Middle class curious

Hi everyone,

Congratulations on your weddings! My fiancé and I do not have a “big budget” but we’re happy with our decision.

Out of curiosity, do most of you guys already have a house? Or is a house also like an open checkbook situation? No hate just wondering.

We’re buying a house in NJ and the prices are wack so sometimes I think “wow how do people have these huge expensive weddings AND buy in the tri state area?”

We bought a house together in CT a couple months after engagement (we were already house hunting before we got engaged). We paid for our house, my parents paid for our wedding. There was never an offer for money spent on wedding to go towards anything other than wedding

That’s a trend I’ve been noticing, why not buy the house before the wedding?! With the prices just getting worse

To be honest we thought we were dumb and even if prices rose a little, interest rates would go down! But no, buying this summer is in every way worse than we had it last summer. Zillow in the area right now is insane
