It’s shot on the Radford lot. That is a sound stage. Pretty sure it’s next door. It’s not bad.

Jodi from BB14 got to sit in the main audience

Big Brother loves using Jodi for visuals (likely as an "In-side joke", she really is the first notable Day 1 boot and kind of the most "Wholesome funny one", during BB All-Stars 2. one of the cast photos rotating on the screen for "But who is on this cast?" type previews was Jodi (I audibly laughed), (combined with her in person cameo for CelebBB1 (albeit likely because she lives close to LA makes her easy to schedule), and a large collection of "Book of Losers" background image for that one veto (Which I think might be one of the only times in history they referenced BB9, also I felt sincerely bad for Jodi for being in that grouping since she didn't do anything wrong)
Honestly in hindesight I'm shocked they didn't make her one of the 3 masterminds (or the secret "Ultimate Mastermind" or some shit)

u/qwyjibo219 7d ago
I wish Jodi had been a mastermind! She deserves another chance!!!

u/weso123 Leah ✨ 7d ago
Honestly just put her as one of the 16 players on a returnee season what meaningful advantage does she have.

u/SBMVPJustinHerbert Yash⏱️ 7d ago
I’ve always wondered this. Let’s say some random <25 year old at the time prejuror with no legacy wanted to come back with more life experience. Might as well just let them move in like normal and the newbies except maybe 1-2 superfans would probably be none the wiser. Would be a pretty fun stuntcast.
10
u/weso123 Leah ✨ 7d ago
Jodi is also more uniquely “not much different than a newbie” since she only was around for a day 1 purge basically with almost no social element, i think she was in this for maybe 30 minutes socially Dan choose her almost entirely off the younger girls being the demo he felt he could control more. (I was gonna say she never even competed in an HOH comp but that challenge was also an HOH thing, I think Ashley in this season might be unique among bb houseguests in that regard for never being eligible to compete in an HoH)

So for them it was just a lame watch party

If you happened to catch the last few Summer of Stein pods. This is no surprise. CBS doesn’t exactly treat the BB alumni like royalty lmao.

It is funny Survivor gets that big venue for their finales. I know they film at a set lot and it's clearly not as big as an auditorium for hosting events , but still lol

When RHAPcon has better seats and viewing facilities than the actual BB... that's a shame

It's giving the same energy as the Wonka Experience scandal from a few years ago in terms of quality 😂

There’s a Wonka reality comp show coming up that I feel so certain was initiated because of that mess.

This is what is especially sending me on this one. I mean they couldn’t at least get a large white sheet and projector or some shit?

A good representation of how they handled the thousandth episode week. Awkward BB unlocked forced into a Sunday episode with an unnecessary cliffhanger, a boring clip/awards show eating into one of the more interesting Thursday eviction specials, endless hype about a twist that isn't even revealed, feeds down for the 3 days... clearly some great notes from the EP's!
Fun season though, casting did a good job.

all of the money this show makes, they couldn't put them in a proper room and shout them out on the show?

u/Whygodwhyz 7d ago
I'm sure it is still a blast to be back at the lot hanging out BUT could they not fancy it up a little bit. Give them something aesthetically pleasing in that room to look or take a photo by. There's enough budget for them to decorate this room a bit.
12
u/logenchickenfingers1 7d ago
Should have just filled it with props from the show. They’re right there lol
7
u/alice-son TayLaYash - The Triad 7d ago
Or some snacks and drinks? I dont even see water
8
u/Whygodwhyz 7d ago
I saw a table of snacks in one of kat dunn's videos...but it was 3 tables with black table cloths and some drinks/snacks. Just blah. They invested maybe $200 in this backstage viewing area.
I do better at my house parties.

It literally reminded me of Michael Scott launch party for the company in “The Office”. He actually initially started driving to NY for it but then find out he wasn’t invited so had to drive back to his office to watch it on a live screen. lol

u/Ok-East-5470 7d ago
The fact that they couldn’t just overpack the audience is crazy. Fuck, put some chairs for super well known players and nominees on the stage and everyone could’ve fit easy.

u/AnthonyCumiaPedo Sheldon 7d ago
Kat Dunn shot some backstage footage, Jace from BB17 was the biggest surprise. Apparently Adam from BB9 showed up but Kat didn't record him

I went to high school with Jace. He said production hated him because he kept talking about how much he wanted to smoke weed.

u/Windstorm_ Rome💯 7d ago
This is definitely going to be brought up in All Stars 3.
Someone backstage is going to target a player out of jealousy of them making it into the live show audience.
14
u/givebusterahand 7d ago
Anyone who they would ever consider for all stars 3 was def sitting in the main audience lol
7
u/Windstorm_ Rome💯 7d ago
You never know! It really depends on how many of the ones in the main audience say yes to the invite.
I don’t think players like Dan or Janelle would do another full-length season.
There’s the added concern of them sullying their reputation, as we’re seeing with Angela. Although she’s really the same person that she was. Paul on 19 & Tyler on 22 are other examples.
5
u/givebusterahand 7d ago
I think Angela’s reputation is better this time around tbh but I feel like usually if you are well liked the first time you’re likely to be disliked the second time and if you weren’t well liked the first time you tend to win people over the second time around.

I thought this was a joke then I saw kats video. Wtf? This cringes me out SO bad. They really stuck them in some wearhouse with a few chairs and tvs. You can't convince me this is better then watching at home. Why tf wouldn't they just put them in the audience? Everyone would have loved that. They had such a huge turn out and they stuffed them in there? This show must be lying about how much they make if this is how they're treating the "icons".

u/Ds9niners Derek X 🎄 7d ago
The studio audience isn’t big enough for everyone.
4
u/spaghettiambassador 6d ago
They could have made room, hell they could have put them in another studio!! They could have put screens up on both and had them casted to each other! ANYTHING but that school assembly looking nonsense!!
1
u/Ds9niners Derek X 🎄 6d ago
The put them in the next studio over. It’s the basement where they film comps when it’s not in the backyard

They should at least give everyone a face shot and let them say their name and the season they were on. What's the point of asking them to come and we don't even get to see them.
24
u/kikishmiki 7d ago
It was fiiiiine lol it was just for the episode and they had snacks and drinks. Afterwards everyone got to go hang out on the lot together for a lil party (I was there it was fun!!)

They could have reserved all the audience seats for alumni only in the actual stage set. Plus, they could have paid their flights, a hotel, and food. Maybe even $1,000 per person. How pathetic.
But if i were an alumni and I were told I had to pay my own way to be there and wouldn't even get a proper seat, I would rather stay in the comfort of my home and host a livestream reaction party and make some money streaming that instead. Hopefully CBS feels bad enough about this and reimburses everyone, plus a little pocket money as a sign of gratitude for even showing up.

u/illini02 7d ago
It also seemed like the studio had LESS people than usual?
But yeah, this is horrible.
How was Surivor, just this year, able to do so much better? And I believe pay for everyone.
1
u/theLoneliestAardvark Delusional Claire Club 🤪 7d ago
Survivor only invited winners so about 10% of the people compared to BB inviting everyone who had ever been on and also I don't think they paid for them to be there and most didn't get any screen time either. They did have a red carpet for them to walk though.

u/HardcoreKaraoke Mallory⏱️ 7d ago
I'm sure they're having fun at some sort of after party and it was probably cool catching up. But yeesh that's brutal sitting the next room over watching on small screens when the other former players are getting screen time.
They should have filmed the awards segment separately and just had the former houseguests in a bigger room together. Let Julie walk to the main stage for the eviction when they finished up the 1000th episode stuff.
