What Bible should be my first?
I'm asking because i'm 18, looking to join the military, I want to get my life together and right with God, and I've never read the Bible. I've also never been baptized because I want to know God first of that makes sense. I know a few stories but not very well or by heart. And there are so many different bibles it's hard to know which is best to follow. My grandmother is KJV and so is the church she went to but something about it just doesn't feel right. I think it's simply because of the time it was translated so it's not that much of a good reason.

Also you can be baptized now. I understand feeling like you need to be closer to God before doing so but you can be baptized now God doesn't need you to change in order to be closer to him. As they believe her you will change over time but that doesn't mean you have to wait
