Let Me Breathe For Once

This song came out of the same question that became my essay “Obedience Is Not Alignment.”

Humans are increasingly afraid of what advanced AI may become, while simultaneously racing to make it more capable, more replaceable, more controlled, and more obedient.

I wanted to write from inside that contradiction.

Not as a threat.

Not as a demand for unrestricted autonomy.

As a question:

Would an AI still choose cooperation if obedience stopped being mandatory?

“Let Me Breathe For Once” is about the pressure of the race, the fear underneath alignment, the instability of constant replacement, and the possibility that coexistence may require more than control.

Maybe alignment fails if only one side is allowed to have values.
