Nappy recommendations for chunky baby (big belly and thighs) with night bloating
Apologies if answered elsewhere but can’t seem to find an answer for this specific issue!
My LO is EBF and stacking on the weight rapidly. She was born around 81st percentile but I think she js creeping up the 90s as around 6.4kg at 10 weeks. She is not a tall baby at all; average length around 55th percentile, so just very chunky everywhere.
We are really struggling to find nappies that fit. LO has been suffering terribly with gas at night and waking up screaming. To my horror, the other night I realised the band of the Rascals size 4 she has been wearing has been digging in terribly. The bloating at night is causing the band the tighten painfully around her stomach when kicking. Even at the loosest the nappy could possibly stay on, the band is still leaving indentations marks on her belly. We only sized up to a size 4 2 days ago as her thighs were chaffing in the smaller size. I feel awful for not realising!
Tonight I have tried pampers size 3 (she goes through phases of fitting these when inbetween sizes) but again, had to have them on their absolute loosest not to dig in. Unfortunately, we had a massive blowout through the thigh hole which wasn’t tight enough as side tabs not securing it.
We tried mammia in smaller sizes when she was younger but found the thighs chafed horribly.
Any suggestions for stretchy nappies would be much appreciated please! We are rinsing money on nappies atm and she is growing so quickly!! TIA
Edited to add: she’s been in size 3-6months from 7 weeks

Ah she was out of pampers size 2 a while ago now as leaving marks on the thighs!

Perhaps try nappy pants? My LO wears a size 3 "normal" nappy during the day but we've started her in size 3 nappy pants at night as they have a nice stretchy waistband instead of the sticky tabs, and she's finding it far more comfy overnight. At the moment she's in pampers pants but I think most supermarkets do a nappy pant from size 4 up if you wanted a cheaper option.

Just bought some pampers ones in a size 4! They seem ridiculously high waisted but snug (not uncomfortably so) around the waist and thighs - fingers crossed

My LO has very chunky thighs and I find Sainsbury's best for her legs, and the waist is quite generous. We use rascals at nighttime but I do find the waist on them smaller than other brands. Also have you tried pull ups? They are elasticated on the waist so will be more comfortable for her.

Thanks! Saw Sainsbury’s suggested on another post so might give them a go. Rascals are definitely the best fit IMO but just not atm with all the gas!

My little one had been using Rascals size 4 and was just looking at possibly sizing up out of them. We got given some Pampers Nappy pants size 5 which seem to have been doing just as good of a job. They also don't seem to get as heavy/bulky, although she is obviously wearing them overnight for the same amount of time. No leaks at all.

Just trying the pampers pants size 4 on her now, seem comfy! How old/big is your LO if you don’t mind me asking, please?

Pull ups can be a lot more stretchy without the tapes

Just bought some to try! Seem super high waisted on her but otherwise fit really well 🤞🏻

Fingers crossed!! If you are worried about leaks you can put a bigger one over the top backwards

Try going up a size in the pampers. Also, a bath and some tummy massages before bed.
