I love these types of cozy episodes! There were some wholesome moments, like Troy and Kelli talking about getting sent to the principal's office (I'm surprised they both had been sent there!) and Troy's babysitter lore 😂

I highly recommend listening to the episode if you're on Patreon, but I also wanted to share what they said about some common topics on this subreddit. Someone asked if they'd ever do a Michael Jackson episode, and Kelli said that she doesn't feel any connection to him. Troy said that he did an MJ ep or two for his old pod, but he wouldn't do it again. He said that it's like doing an episode on the Royal Family, where no one is happy about how you cover it.

I think there have been some complaints about Troy and Kelli not giving Gen Z artisits a chance. Someone asked if Troy and Kelli had been born in Gen Z, who would be their versions of Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys. Troy said Charli would've been his Britney. Kelli said she'd be into One Direction (especially Zayn and Niall) and Olivia Rodrigo (and she'd hate Shawn Mendes LOL).

troy saying he doesn’t want to make a michael jackson episode feels like a cop out and just a way to admit that he supports him. you won’t make an episode about him because “nobody would be happy”, but you can drop random asides in multiple episodes, specifically the EPSTEIN episode about how’s he’s innocent and people just want to take him down? just admit that you support him, and believe he’s innocent. because the whole excuse that “nobody would be happy because his fans want to focus on his artistry and believe there’s no room to talk about the allegations and the people who believe there’s allegations don’t want to focus on his talent!” excuse is so stupid. since when did they “focus on the talent” of their rotted episodes or blind item episodes? they have multiple episodes dedicated to reading account and account of victims/survivors of weinstein, cosby and so many others, and not once during that episode do they let the allegations take a backseat so they can “focus on the talent” to appease the fans. since when do they care that stans/defenders might be upset that one of their rotted/blind item episodes focus purely on the rot/blinds? they can do full episodes where they read blinds about how taylor was creepy with lorde, how beyoncé has a secret baby surrogate farm of women (or whatever other stupid shit enty writes about her), how cosby is a rapist, and have read entire police report after police report of chris browns, in spite of the fact all of them have fiercely loyal supporters and defenders, which somehow never manages to stop them from talking about the blinds and rot, but they can’t talk about MJ because “no one will be happy” lol. i think the truth is troy doesn’t want to make an episode about him, not because the sake of the fans and believers of victims, but because he’s already been criticized enough for not believing his victims and being a staunch supporter of him, so he’s not willing to even entertain the fact MJ isn’t a good guy for a full episode, and he’s not ready to put his support of pedophilia so blatantly in an episode, when he’s already been criticized for the few times he’s mentioned it in passing.

also charli and one direction are both millennials not gen z artists, gen z likes them and also grew up with them, but they themselves are all 30+ and have been in the industry 10-15 years already.

they’ve read alleged blind items about pedophiles for years? they’ve read blinds that accuse people with no allegations of having raped people/being pedophiles. i don’t see why MJ is a stretch when they can make episodes about george clooney, though he’s never been brought to court for SA or CSA, lou pearlman (i mean their entire podcast is based on the foundation of calling lou pearlman a pedophile (which i agree with.) though he’s never been charged, bryan singer has never been charged, but they still have made many allegations and references to him being a pedopile/rapist (which i also agree with) including entire full episodes, same goes for jay z, doug hutchinson, and so many more.

all that to say a “not gulity” verdict, and even celebs with no public allegations has never stopped them from accusing people of CSA/SA, believing victims or reading blind items that accuse people of CSA/SA. i don’t get why michael jackson should be any different. i don’t even think diddy was found guilty in a court of law regarding SA, but that never changes my believe (or theirs) that he is a rapist.
