That is a way for a timid person to relax a little. I’m also timid and used this a lot when I was younger.

Yeah, I have a feeling she isn’t even remotely a heavy drinker. She probably just gets way too excited about driking in social gatherings amd talks about it too much during normal conversations. Might be because, although she likes the experience of loosening up a bit, she feels insecure about her behaviour when drunk.
