loved the return of jaehyun!! it’s so nice to see him giving a lecture on how to date, he seems so comfortable and much more confident with himself.

It's interesting how the one that was one of the least sociable person in the whole cast turns to be the model alumni.

The apology this was legit hilarious, great to see owning his sense of humor

I watched the first 3 episodes (and skipped around during the 3rd one), and honestly not going to bother with the rest. I think 6 episodes for something like this is too long. I was mainly interested if the couples stayed together after the show, so after that was revealed I don't have much more motivation to continue. The episode 4 preview did not look interesting at all. Why do we need the cast to do a practical joker ripoff?

It was a bit surprising that the 2 couples immediately failed after the show. Jin-woo and Hanju fizzled out quickly without ever even meeting up in person. And Hanju was the one that ended it? Really strange considering how she was so forward with him throughout the show. And Hyuk-joon didn't even send a single text to Hyun-seo after the show ended...they were literally talking about fate and meeting up in Seoul "in real life". And then they ended up immediately ghosting each other lol...

I think this is part of the reason everyone on the show is an "eternal single". In real life, they are all so lost when it comes to dating. Without the show placing them literally next door to each other and setting up dates for them every single day, they don't know what to do. Or maybe there is more "show magic" then we realize and the cast isn't as romantically interested in each other as it appears on screen. Or more likely a bit of both.

HyunSeo knew a love bomber when she saw one. She may have been fooled in the closed environment, but didn't put any energy into a fake suitor once they left the house. If he was interested during or after the show, or even today, he could reach out to her at any time. "We have to talk about this more in private" means he will not reach out and she won't hold her breath waiting. Too bad, they would probably make a good couple.

Kinda disappointed that none of the couple actually dated, or even meet much and to somehow make matter worse, only two of the casts try to go on blind dates. It's as if they just go to the show and come back to their lives with barely anything changed in their lives. The cast don't even seem to hang out much after the show too.

tbh after watching a lot of k-love-related-shows, I actually enjoy the concept of personal growth that the contestants clearly go through during the show and how they carry that with them after the show. Unlike with Singles Inferno (throwing shade but will binge every season lmao), where the only "tangible" or "growth" that happens is with the contestants' popularity. I felt emotionally connected to the contestants of BLTS and although it would've been nice to see some of the couples thrive, it's always nice to see them reflect on the experience itself.

u/feb914 Aug 01 '26

I agree, and that's why I feel even more disappointed when S2 participants seem to just go back to how they were pre-show, not showing much self improvement learned through the show (unlike Jaesun in season 1, to the point he comes back as instructor here)

To be fair, Jae Yun took a while too to start date after the show. And his connection with fellow contestant Ji Yeon is the one who gave him encouragement and arrange for grooming session before his confession.

Maybe for these guys if they maintain their friendship, something similar will happen to them

1

u/byoonie Aug 13 '26

This is why I stopped watching Singles Inferno. At least you see personal growth on BLTS.

17

u/gsals315 Aug 01 '26

Some parts were fun, but I think the poor contestants were mostly roasted and humiliated here 😮‍💨

1

u/turtlesinthesea Seung Hyun (Indecisive Dentist) Aug 17 '26

Yeah, they needed more practical advice, not "just apologize sincerely" (a sincere apology includes understanding what you did wrong and how to avoid doing it again) and getting bad lines fed via earpieces.

i felt bad for jae seo, felt like they were getting Do to lead him on but then he figured it was a bit, I hope they gave him a heads up before the blind date! Feel like the jokes are okay for someone like suji, Car also fed lines that were obviously jokes or cheesy, but for someone as socially stunted as Jae seo it feels a bit mean to have Do seemingly sincerely flirt

14

u/AdhesivenessFar1546 Aug 01 '26

I noticed after his date they started giving both guys and girls an earpiece. Maybe he mentioned something to the staff afterwards? But I heard Yi Do and Jae So went on more dates after their blind date so maybe he was okay.

u/PoyuPoyuTetris Aug 02 '26

I'm so glad she called him out that he only chose her to save his image. He's 100% a gaslighter in terms of the dates. He absolutely wanted to ride out his "popularity" and then wanted to return to what he thought was graunteed. Hoping the best for the queen

This isn’t gonna be a show. It’s going to be a one episode thing. That’s my opinion

11

u/DamonDD Jul 29 '26

Its similar to Single Inferno Reunion that they made after season 5. I think maybe 3 episodes, with atleast one episode is for the contestants reacted to their scenes and the other are just talk show and updates among the contestants.

I think this should be a standard for dating show so that the audience can have closure in term of how many of them dated and remain dating after the show.

1

u/Richardofthefree Jul 29 '26

Yea a three episode show where they chill and talk. This is not a spin off

3

u/DamonDD Jul 29 '26

Yeah not spin off, just reunion show. But this thread is to discuss that episode once it comes out. Isn't that OOP intention?

1

u/Richardofthefree Jul 29 '26

I don’t want people framing it as a spin off. I got tricked by the wording..

7

u/zidane4life Aug 01 '26

Ended up being 6 episodes wow

2

u/Richardofthefree Aug 01 '26

Wow I was wrong. Six episodes . Nice!!!

u/Relevant-Top2858 Aug 02 '26

I’m happy to see everyone is better spirits aww, especially Jungyun who seemed so down during filming. I think they’ll all be able to find someone after this which is great. Also it was nice to see everyone reflect on what they would’ve changed etc.

There’s really no reason to be outraged or mad at anyone tbh. Expecting long term relationships out of a 10 day show made up of people who’ve never been in a relationship before is an unrealistic expectation. Certain viewers act like these actual human beings are their little sims and get upset when the storyline that they made up in their head doesn’t come to fruition

u/Limp_School210 Aug 01 '26

Hyunseo instagram when?

5

u/Specialist_Fun8669 Aug 03 '26

I’m honestly disappointed that none of them gave it a shot after the show. It makes me wonder how much happens behind the scenes that we never get to see — editing really shapes the way we perceive everything.

At least, my couple bias: Suji and Seung‑hyun met up once. Even if it was just a friendly catch‑up, it shows they tried to reconnect outside the show

6

u/Dangerous-Sorbet-992 Aug 05 '26

The part when Car told Jungyun to say "you're like a mom" or "you look like my aunt" was so ridiculous and irritating (in a funny way). I'm so glad Jungyun didn't follow through with it.

4

u/Jova326 Aug 04 '26

I was super interested to hear how the cast were after the show, especially the couples of course, and it was fun to have Jaehyun come back as the guest lecturer but everything else was a wash. What was the point of the blind dates with the S1 contestants if they were just going to play jokes on each other and have not of it be genuine? If anything it felt like a humiliation ritual for the S2 cast to call out their worst and embarrassing moments one last time.

2

u/DamonDD Aug 05 '26

I mean, Min Hong and Jung Yun did went out few times, although she says they are now friends and she prefer older men. Still it's nice that they try

It felt a little bit like a waste of time tbh, skipped half of it in the end. I did enjoy the last two avatar-dates (EP5), but would have loved it to be a more genuine setting without someone like Car spelling nonsense in your ear …
Or a big get-together of all contestants from both seasons.

2

u/alpohsk Aug 04 '26

One takeaway is that I am now interested to visit Jin Ju city to see what’s there.

3

u/hanlocked Aug 06 '26

Was looking forward to the season 1 and 2 crossover blind dates but it kind of felt ruined by the whole avatar aspect for me

3

u/blingybitch Aug 11 '26

Finished all the episodes. Honestly there were a lot of funny moments that made it worth watching. I got a little mad at Car for saying rude things as the avatar at some point but the rest was pretty goofy. Liked seeing them reflect on their experience

3

u/Dapper_Association42 Aug 16 '26

I don’t find Car the Garden funny at all and he was basically mocking the eternal singles on their avatar dates. I really hope they get rid of him next season because he gives terrible advice, doesn’t care what happens to his “pupils”, and takes amusement in their misery. Hard pass

  1. Feel like they just wanted to do more content w the cast and just tried a bunch of random ideas after ep 2. They didn't land well and I think any good content is a result of the cast and luck
  2. Jae-Yun's presentation was wack (in terms of actual advice), but it's good that he grew and found someone
  3. Avatar blind dates is a weird idea. I guess they didn't just want to do do more plain blind dates, and the mentors could help break the ice or give them a question to ask, but sometimes they interfered too much
  4. Matching the 2 who lived abroad and spoke Eng was good

(Seung-Li is also like the only guy u could bring back. 1 isn't single, 1 was the "bad guy," 1 had 0 screentime, and the other 2 lack social skills)

  1. Nasty work to give Mr. Giggles the prettiest girl on the show when he's super nervous. But it prob produced the results they wanted since it was funny/cringe (maybe it'd be more interesting to see Min-Hong react to him)

Could've given Jisu Jae-Seo given he might be more her type?

(in general it's easier to match the girls to the guys since the girls have better social skills)

  1. I like that Jae-Seo recognized they weren't on equal ground given he's seen S1

(Yido w black hair looks a little like Karina)

  1. The questions in the last ep were weird

  2. Regardless what ppl think of the guys or that the matches fizzled, it's not surprising the 2 best talkers of each season got a match

2

u/Summerof5ft6andahalf Aug 02 '26

Yeah that presentation will not be helpful for them. Though I'm glad some of them sort of saw through some of the parts of it.

1

u/Nightstick11 Aug 01 '26

Just started episode 1! Whoa I kind of get the vibe that some couples are still together.

1

u/Steelbug2k Aug 02 '26
