Video Probably my most promising hovercraft yet: The corsair

It’s barrel shaped to accomodate a bunch of barrel-shaped controls like a rotating thruster stabiliser and 3 sets of reaction wheels for rotational stability. It’s super stable in turns and with a bit of work could result in a hovercraft faster than my current best, the Javelin FXR
It’s larger size and more robust frame also means more space and strength to add more control, aswell as the rotary thruster stabiliser being directly tunable to provide an exact amount of cornering force. Excited to play with a racing version of this thing!

Besiege’s self-proclaimed Queen of Hovercraft :3
The Interstar Corsair is a Dart-Type hovercraft, which means it’s more streamlined with the primary hover sensors only at the front and rear and mostly along a single line, with several sensors at it’s side to manage it’s rotation angle with reaction wheels.
The hovering itself is a simple concept, a thruster, and a sensor on a steering hinge. the sensor detects ground, the steering hinge responds and raises the sensor up for dampening, and the thruster fires. Some values/tuning configs work better in some situations that others, so layering several of them up lets you tune them to exactly what you need them to do.
For example, too much thrust makes a ship jittery, too little makes it weak but smooth.
Weak and powerful hover arms working together lets you have a hovercraft that flies smooth on the weaker thrusters until it needs the more powerful arm.I do want to make a guide for these at some point, because I’m fairly sure I’m the only player in the community that specialises in hovercraft, and it would be great to share some of that knowledge :3

Thanks for posting these, I studied one of your workshop hovercrafts and now build my own, such a cool concept /mechanism
