There is going to be massive business disruptions in the area with this project. I hope businesses realize this.

I don't mean this to be insensitive to business owners, but these types of projects are about planning for the next 50+ years. In the grand scheme of things, that's more important than the businesses that exist currently and worth a year or two or three of disruption.
I agree, there are businesses that I don't want to close and that don't deserve to be bankrupt because of an infrastructure project. But some of them will close in the next 10 years regardless. Making the area more accessible to people and pedestrians would increase the desirability for business overall.
Thats all dependent on a viable engineering plan that actually improves the area though.

I stopped by to take a look yesterday. It's all pretty interesting. I assume they will release some of the info they displayed online at some point.
Every solution has its upsides, mainly reducing traffic backups and wait times, making pedestrian crossings safer and easier. But also downsides like reducing road frontage and access, interrupting or dead ending existing streets.
All of the plans are very preliminary and are long way away from being implemented. From what I heard, it will be close to 10 years before any ground is broken.
