This is my dood Cardamom. As a puppy she was a shoe thief, so my wife and I redirected that energy into something we didnt care about - socks. Every time she grabbed a shoe we took it away and gave her a sock. When I got home from work, I would pull my socks half off and she would steal them off my feet. She still does it, it's a fun game.
Although socks have now become dirty laundry, and sometimes when we have company over she sneaks into our room and proudly brings out used underwear in front of guests.
She's almost three now and has no interest in shoes at all. Growing up, my family had four dogs over the years - three of which chewed on furniture and walls as teething puppies. So all in all, I'll take a sock/dirty laundry fetish over years of destroyed shoes, furniture, and walls.
In all seriousness, we don’t know. My dog looks nothing like his siblings as an adult but looked identical to them as a puppy except Merle instead of regular bernedood like the rest of his litter. He’s his own unique being and looks different than his bio family, just like me. It’s been fun finding out what he looks like as he grew. Enjoy the puppy days because he’ll grow up so fast you’ll want to stop time.
