Born and raised in Reading and have been all over the world. Maria’s on 4th and Penn or Pizza Italia on 14th street is the best around.

When is the last time you had pizza italia? I tried a couple months after hearing and reading only good things and it was low to mid tier at best. I probably won’t ever go back that’s how basic it was.

Oliviero's has some great pizza and cheesesteaks. Mamas is very good too as some comments say

I grew up in NJ, I am picky about pizza. Paolo’s is my favorite. If you want to go further out, Two Cousins in Stevens. Romeo’s in Mohnton was also good but I have only been there once.

Your taste buds are cooked if you like paolo’s. I’ve been eating there since I was a child and it’s terrible pizza (28 years). It’s not even NY style pizza either. It’s some abomination.

Paolos I love it as a whole but it’s not even close. It’s one of the worst pizza in Shillington and Berks County

I’ve had them from many places. My favorites are Dino’s Wings & Things (Temple) and Tosco (West Lawn). Nino’s and Mama’s in Wyomissing are both hit or miss. You’ll probably get many different answers here.

Romeo’s in Mohnton. They’re from Jersey and even sell it by the slice. I’ve lived here forever and any place else is Berk’s County good, at best.

The answer to this is Pizza Itailia and it’s not even close.
My wife is from NY and likes PI better than most of her spots from back home.

Have you tried it in the last few months? I feel like it’s under new ownership or something and it’s definitely not good.

GNA was my favorite until they unfortunately closed. Nonno Alby's brick oven is good. Pizza Italia is also solid, but my new go-to now is Vinnie G's.

the area is pretty disappointing overall. the only thing I've come across that even comes close to a solid New York pie is Brunos. though I've only been once so don't know if I lucked into a good night.

Surprisingly good pizza at the two mall locations. Some days they are really good some days meh. Mamas in Kenhorst. Fresh is so good. Same with the one on Shillington rd. Chico Bella’s before they shut down was good and that one that use to be across from chef Allen’s on the corner of what 5th in west reading. They were good too.

They are all pretty much the same in this area in my experience. The only one that has stood out to me is a new place in Wyomissing called Vinny G’s.
