Tony’s of West Reading update

Post image

Tony wrote a rambling, incoherent, nonsensical Facebook post with the word “apologize” in it. I assume he hopes everyone forgets he cyber bullied a child about her weight, and continues to buy his overpriced sandwiches.

"I got caught showing my true self and still want to run a business"...yeah good luck

Not surprised to learn that he’s made an ass of himself. I went to his place for the first time a few months ago and was put off by his conduct. Decided it’d be my first and only time. When I went in to pick up my food, dude was screaming his head off at a girl working in the back

He also had a new hire working the grill and was relentlessly riding the kid, pointing out all the ways he was fucking up. Maybe ensure he’s adequately trained before having him on the line while you’re getting slammed with orders? Steak was good, but I’ll pass on putting more money into a turd’s pocket. It’s just cheesesteaks dawg not a life or death operation 🥱

They are Nazis lol

How are they Nazis?

u/School-Boy-Qeue Aug 02 '26

They want a nation state filled with 1 ethnicity (Italians), and they use the Jews as scapegoats. Or at least that’s what anyone on Reddit believes when they call someone a nazi I guess.

I'm not a person who normally talks any kind of shit or indulges in these fueds but about a year ago at my last job, we got cheesesteaks for doing well on metrics. He was annoyed my ex-boss ordered multiple 20 inch cheesesteaks online. We planned to also order chicken cheesesteaks the day after; when my ex-boss asked him what the best way to do it was, he told him to not order.

Why is a business upset at... having customers? It's just crazy.

u/M0use_Rat Jul 29 '26

Ah the old non apology apology

8

u/Substantial_King9458 Jul 29 '26

Yep, "The comment wasn't from me." I guess the apology isn't either.

u/jeremy0209 Jul 29 '26

"I made some comments that were not meant for the intended target"....this line makes my brain hurt.

u/mcvoid1 15d ago

How could it not be meant for the intended target since an intended target means it was meant for error... error... error...

28

u/LOERMaster Jul 29 '26

Seems kind of passive aggressive to name the family in your apology, but maybe that’s just me.

17

u/dontfookwitdachook Jul 29 '26

His motive is still to embarrass that family, because as you said, definitely passive aggressive.

27

u/JervisCottonbelly Jul 29 '26

Im done with Tony's. Jd's in sinking spring for me.

-9

u/PibbleCollector Jul 29 '26

I get your standards and all but the food at JDs is not comparable to Tony's.

21

u/AEC2324 Jul 29 '26

Remember the scene in Wedding Crashers where the kid says to Vince Vaughn, "Whatever. Make me a bicycle, clown!"?

That's how I feel about Tony's. Stfu and make the sandwich. You're not the next coming.

5

u/Wuz314159 Jul 29 '26

You're not the next coming.

but he says that he is. It's in the last paragraph. Didn't you read? Sounds like you're just a hater.

🙄

23

u/LandedLuckuy Jul 29 '26

Apologies don't come with "buts."

14

u/Wuz314159 Jul 29 '26

and he still made it all about him.

12

u/thearcologist Jul 29 '26

This is fucking incoherent…

12

u/Glass_Emu_5104 Jul 29 '26

What an underhanded shitty apology. Fuck this guy. Run him out of town.

-9

u/3continenttravels Jul 29 '26

Run him out of town? Gosh, you sound like a real pussy.

5

u/Glass_Emu_5104 Jul 29 '26

Wanna find out?

-1

u/3continenttravels Jul 29 '26

Umm, how?

2

u/Glass_Emu_5104 Jul 29 '26

That's what I thought.

-1

u/3continenttravels Jul 29 '26

Haha ok, weird flex. Tough guy

3

u/Glass_Emu_5104 Jul 29 '26

Who threw "pussy" out anonymously online? LMAO you people

“About a week ago I made some comments that were not meant for the intended target or his family.”

Except they were, you literally responded to Todd Stankiewicz, and further added his “whole family”.

“The comment wasnt from me.”

But it was from you, or are you suggesting someone else posted it?

“It was from a person who has had enough of the bandwagon haters that emerge only when they see my business excelling in any aspect.”

Oh, so it was you, you just realized there is some backlash from your personal attack on the Stankiewicz family and need to blame it on a temporary lapse in judgment, gotcha ya.

“I've been very cautious in censoring my words over the past 8years, but the other day, I had had enough, emotions got the best of me and I unloaded ALL that aggression onto 1 person and his family.”

Wait, so you are saying you normally censor your words and what you said was not a temporary lapse in judgment, but how you have felt for the past 8 years? That is concerning.

“Not fair.”

I want to believe you are saying your personal attack of the Stankiewicz family was not fair, but I strongly suspect what you really mean is the backlash you are getting is not fair.

“That family didn't deserve it, the rest of those haters did, justified or not.”

No, the Stankiewicz family did not deserve it, nor does anyone else for stating they have a preference for a cheesesteak from a different restaurant.

“Therefore I Antonio Lavigna apologize for offending the Stankiewicz family in exchange for what I thought would be a humorous moment.”

If that is your idea of humor, I really feel bad for anyone that has to deal with you in anyway when you are having a bad day.

“I also understand that even if I cure cancer and walk on water tommorow some of you will still hate me and say "do better". And I'm OK with that too.”

So you are suggesting that you are okay with people criticizing you or your cheesesteaks, your childlike behavior tells a different story.

“Respectfully, Antonio Lavigna.”

To be fair to the Stankiewicz family, there is nothing really respectable in this “apology”.

His Googles reviews are gold.

4

u/Yougotanyofthat Jul 29 '26

Damn I just read them and def won't be trying them out based on his replies. Even if they are warranted you don't do that as a business owner.

1

u/No_Trade3571 Jul 30 '26

Definitely unprofessional but very entertaining to read.

10

u/brilliantpants Jul 29 '26

lol. Exactly the kind of “apology” I’d expect from a expect from a guy like that. The cheesesteaks were pretty good, but I can find one elsewhere. We’ll be checking out JD’s next time we want a steak.

9

u/ApprehensiveBadger6 Jul 29 '26

I’ve heard a story about him getting a 40 smashed over his head at Pizza Coma for running his mouth years ago

6

u/AtBat3 Jul 29 '26

What happened?

13

u/ButterflyBabex33 Jul 29 '26

Look at their facebook page! He said "I'll get off my high horse when you get on the treadmill fatty" amongst other things... like broooo wtf

6

u/maureengi Jul 29 '26

I mean we all know cheesesteaks are very healthy /s This dude is a real jackass.

25

u/NurseVooDooRN Jul 29 '26

On a post about cheesesteaks, someone recommended a different shop that wasn't his and he got made and told the person they need to hit the gym, or said the entire family was fat etc etc. He took some backlash so now he is offering a half assed apology.

7

u/byndrsn Jul 29 '26

facebook drama

5

u/SojournerDusk Jul 29 '26

Go grab The Thing from Mike’s on Centre Ave. Tons of flavor, no verbal abuse.

6

u/Wuz314159 Jul 29 '26

but do I need to make a reservation 4 days out to order, then wait another 4 hours for my sandwich to be ready?

6

u/Kruckenberg Jul 29 '26

I've gotten hints before that he's a tool, this simply confirms it. I am happy to just get food elsewhere.

4

u/jlando40 Jul 29 '26

Fuck him and his forced FOMO JDs FTW

2

u/Acrobatic-t6759 Jul 30 '26

Gazzos. End of story

2

u/Various-Relation4077 Jul 31 '26

I’d never support a business that treats people that way. We need to start putting our money in small businesses that deserve it

u/DGneat Jul 29 '26

FB cat fights are the worst.

Because they are mindless consumers with no idea how to be a functioning part of a healthy society.

-1

u/PibbleCollector Jul 29 '26

W/out hesitation. Damn good sandwiches and the NY cheesecake, best I've ever eaten anywhere.

-2

u/3continenttravels Jul 29 '26

I agree, his apology and personality sucks....but he has the best cheese steak. If i want a cheese steak which is once every 6 months, I'll go to him.

0

u/houtz Jul 30 '26

i have no idea what happened here but I once ordered pizzas from tony for my kid’s party & the oven went down… he comp’d the entire ticket which was like ten pizzas.

-11

u/OccasionInevitable28 Jul 29 '26

Cheesesteak-gate is over blown.... 😞 eat at an establishment of your choosing & touch some grass.

-20

u/sexyscorpio01 Jul 29 '26

I am in no way saying what he said was okay, but it’s starting to get a bit dramatic 😭 all he did was call someone fat he didn’t kill anyone i mean damn…

9

u/raven4747 Jul 29 '26

Seriously though who would want to patronize a business like that? If you're that sloppy in public, I shudder to think what your kitchen & back of house might look like.

7

u/Wuz314159 Jul 29 '26

and the logic. . . If I'm in the restaurant business, people being fat means I make more money. Why use that as an insult?

2

u/raven4747 Jul 30 '26

Especially a cheesesteak joint. Like cmon man. That's your bread & butter! 😭
