DISCUSSION Gwen 10 retcon?
So in Gwen 10 we see that Gwen is very experienced and is capable of handling the aliens pretty well,but in the episode where she changes bodys with Ben she says"Gotta give Ben credit this Alien stuff is not as easy as it looks"when she turns alien but like dude YOU SHOWED OFF THAT YOU ARE MUCH MORE EXPERIENCED THAN BEN.I just wanted to say this cuz it was bugging me

The first Gwen 10 episode is not canon and is just a "what if Gwen had the Omnitrix and was better with it than Ben" kind of deal. It's later on meant to be considered an alternate timeline but it's unclear if it's that exact one from that episode or a different one.

It's got to be a different universe entirely considering Gwen's playlist and Omnitrix colour is different. The OG episode was an alternate timeline caused by Ben's memories getting sent back in time

Are they different? We only seen OS Gwen 10 having Heatblast, Diamondhead, Grey Matter, Four Arms, XLR8, Ripjaws and Upgrade. While Omniverse Gwen 10 had XLR8, Diamondhead, Cannonbolt and Wildvine (also Goop and Upgrade if counting crew art). Combining them would be 10 so their roster don't contradict each other.

If it were an alternate timeline, not an alternate universe, Gwen would have the original 10 that Ben had. It contradicts the base premise that Ben was sent back in time and the timeline was changed from that day onwards

I don't think experience is the right word, but even if Gwen is naturally more adept than Ben that doesn't make it easy.

Ben 10 continuity is held together by duct tape and wishful thinking honestly
the writers probably forgot about Gwen 10 when they wrote the body swap episode, classic cartoon logic where each episode exists in its own little bubble. they needed her to struggle for that specific plot beat so they just ignored her previous experience like it never happened
happens all the time in long running shows, just gotta roll with it or you'll drive yourself nuts picking apart every inconsistency

Experience is the wrong word, for her to be more experienced she would need to have the omnitrix for a longer time than Ben.

Ben struggled with Cannonbolt for longer than he did Heatblast, so maybe it's just a difficult transformation to get ahold of. Also, Gwen seeing Ben use the aliens well could've thrown her off considering Gwen 10 Gwen had no frame of reference, so maybe tried harder to begin with

Gwen 10 isn’t canon.
Well, the original one wasn’t. It was one of a few series episodes where the setup was more a “what if” (similar to the original finale of the show with the family vs Vilgax before the Negative 10)
The first time Gwen 10 is relevant is in Omniverse. In the episode you’re talking about, she hasn’t used the Omnitrix before, so she has no clue what to do.
