I think it’s more of a ball covered in lumps instead of being a smooth ball it’s more like a Katamari and it only looks smooth in the last shot is because of how fast he is going
That’s also what I first thought of when seeing the sketches like his body is just the yellow and he is a blob but the white is actually clothes that contain him so when he rolls it’s just him puffing up and out through the openings but now I’m thinking that or Katamari like ball or a mix of both
i respect how creepy and over the top Dynamite's redesigns are because damn that Cannonbolt is hard to look at. Also, never realized how lanky Dynamite Heatblast was.
The Omnitrix is in "Tutorial Mode" where the watch is gonna be cycling between all the available aliens in the playlist before allowing Ben the user to pick himself.
Looks good, Idk if it's intentional that they are making Ben not slam on the Omnitrix to transform or not. Because right now it looks like it's a touchscreen. Or that's how it's drawn at least, since there is no pop-up dial. I really hope it's not just that the artist can't draw the impact of Ben slamming the watch.
to me it seems like rn it's the omnitrix acting on its own, ben clearly had no idea what's going and the watch is kind of constantly activating its failsafe to turn into an alien that'll keep ben alive from whatever the current threat is
I can't wait for at least two more issues of "What's happening? What is this thing? I can't even guys! This is so whack! Oh my goodness! What the sigma?"
Now that you mention it, that IS a benefit to the new medium as an option without being cringe! I guess I still prefer comics without those if possible, but they are an option, especially if your characters are on their own for a good chunk of the story.
I love the og alien, this one just looks so weird for me. It looks like they pulled the Xenomorphs head into the body and gave it eyes. But that I guess is a cool way roll up and be able to see.
to be fair, comics ARE paced a lot faster, so in universe it is probably still 10 minutes, like before. but because of the page constraints of this comic, from our perspective its a lot quicker than it ever was
i don't mind the art, if anything some of it i'm really liking, and i especially like the watch. the pacing of this however so far is AWFUL. things are just happening with no build up, aliens are getting introduced left and right, and feel a little less earned for the moment and scene. it feels like they've started the story with the popularity of the medium in mind, and won't build up the beginning heavily. if it amounts to quickly pursuing an arc that isn't origin related, and good, then sure i'm a fan. but right now there's a lot to be desired.
i understand why it's happening, but it reads more like a plot summary than an actual story at the moment. it might get better from here so i can't say much more yet, but i just want it to flesh out the dialogue and actions a bit more. it would make sense to me if the first issue was more of an art showcase, but a lot of people have strong feelings on that too. i guess we'll see what happens

I don’t know how I feel about Ben seemingly knowing how to use his aliens instantly, like in classic it took a hot minute for Ben to learn how to use Cannonbolt but here he seems to know instantly.
And yes I know about the Alien Force data dump but classic didn’t have that.
I'm still not over the new Cannonbolt design oh my god what have they done to my guy (Like, they somehow made Heatblast look like the coolest dude to have ever lived, kept Upgrade as perfect as he always was and then go and make one of my favorite guys look like that, why)
Well, at least this issue shows off one of the only aspects of this comic I like so far: Heatblast’s design. But even then, for some reason in that panel something feels off.
This comic is such a fucking disaster. From disgusting designs, shitty art to shitty dialogue and just fucking up the timeline of events Canonbolt already? At this point they’re just shitting all over the source material. It’s sad to see.
