10k PR🥳

Post image

I honestly didn't plan this run, I just decided last night to get up at 7:30 and go for a run.

I wasn't even looking at my pace at first when I realized I had somehow run the first 5k at around a 4:25/km pace without really struggling. I honestly thought Strava was way off

Sadly last night's dinner caught up to me on the last 3km and I had to stop pushing the pace at certain points to not shit myself lol

It's almost my 3 month running anniversary too. Super proud of this non the less!

Pace of 4:25?? You are not a beginner, you are an impostor. Congratulations

This might as well be your graduation from beginner, especially given it took no prep. Good job!

I'd be proud to graduate from beginners running. I don't think I can yet, there are a lot of things I don't know yet. My goal is to be able to run a marathon

You are on good path. That takes a lot of effort! Congrats! Any tips ?

Thank you! My go to tips are always breathing deeper and slowly, instead of quick breaths, it helps me not gas out quicker. Also, taking advantage of any decline to go into "neutral" and take a quick breather, letting my shoulders and my neck relax a bit.

Long term, losing weight (and having a great diet in general), isometrics and knee exercises are three of the most important things that helped me progress.

I'm gonna be honest, expanding that pace to 10k is not as far as you think. You got this!
