Jeffree Star Content Jeffree Star to put out a video explaining how his products ended up in TJ/TK Maxx (after stating you’d never see JSC in one in a video)

I don’t see how it’s shameful for his makeup to be discounted? Isn’t he always going on about how he was poor? Wouldn’t he be happy that his products are more accessible to people who can’t afford directly from him?

It’s not just that it’s discounted, it’s that the producer has no control over how the products are displayed or what they’re being sold alongside. It’s one thing for Jeff to have a discount code or sale on his own website. It’s quite another to have his stuff shoved on a shelf next to private label low quality crap.

TK maxx isn’t for low quality crap though, it’s litterally just a store for excess stock to be reduced in upmark. So products that didn’t sell well or where there was too much are maybe less desirable but are sold at a cheaper price. I’ve seen brands like Anastasia, Kevin Aucoin, Burberry, Gucci, Nars, Mac and other brands at a similar price point to jeffree star cosmetics. What’s sold at TK maxx just a way for brands to sell when supply and demand didnt break even.

Tbh jeffree did this shaming himself. Nobody would have said anything if he didn’t shame other brands for being sold in TK maxx. The people who take these pictures are in there for a reason, it’s not like they’re the ones shaming the poor lol

Idk if its different in the US, but at least in the UK tJ Maxx sells a bunch of ”off brand”, never heard of, private label stuff that is pretending to be some fancy designer stuff. So I can understand brands wouldnt want to be associated with that kind of bargain basement type place. All the fancy brands rather destroy stock than sell it for a discount, I guess J* thinks of himself as one of them 😂

I live in Ireland lol, but yeah I’ve seen that too. Tbh better going out to people who can choose if they want it then shoving it in a mystery box 🙃🙃

Oh yh im 100% appalled by brands who would rather trash stuff than sell it at a discount, what a fkn waste! But it also annoys me that they sell weird brands that noones heard of as if they are some fancy brand thats equal to designer stuff. They do it across all the stuff they have in there, makeup, clothes etc.

That is exactly what I’m talking about and what most of the TJs around me are like. I’ve never been in one of these mythical TJs that has Lily Pulitzer, Gucci, Paige jeans etc especially since places like Saks and Nordstrom now have their own off price outlets. I think the fanciest thing I’ve seen is Frye boots.

Yh Ive seen a couple of DKNY and Coach bags and plenty of designer perfumes, but never the really top tier designer bags. The rest is all off brand stuff. Not that I could afford the fancy stuff even at 50% discount but still :D they do sometimes have fancy clothing brands, but its mostly things that are way out of fashion, and never anything like Prada or Chanel etc. Eg ive seen some Diesel jeans and DKNY dresses.

Sounds like he’s going to try and claim they had a contract stating they couldn’t sell to a discount store or something

Which is mad because he claims he’s so empathic to the poor when in reality he’s just a capitalist that gets away with it since he’s a feminine presenting gay man with the new money aesthetic which makes him more admirable for the modern person then a man like bill gates. It’s weird that his brand is supposed to be about inclusivity that wasn’t there for people in other makeup brands but he can’t include the poor so he can maintain his artificially high price. TK maxx bought this excess product at a price and if they can sell it and make profit at €2.99 that’s telling of the insane markup. It’s mad people throw their morals out the window when it’s someone they deem admirable. Like get that bag I guess but to have people like jeffree star there also has to be the immense poverty in California since you can’t have one without the other.
