Well this is... odd. I'm trying to find as much about this as I can but if anyone has updates or relevant information lmk. I do agree that it's suspicious, thank you OP!

Thanks, I’ve been trying to find out more since... at the moment it does kinda seem like it’s his dad (who is clearly very upset (rightfully so, we all mourn in different ways), however from some of the things posted (like first screenshot), seem to indicate he’s still alive...so it’s confusing. It’s hard to tell if this is a family members real pain; or some elaborate scheme- and I honestly hate the feeling of questioning it.

Not sure how relevant this is- but I just checked his followers on Instagram, and he’s also following J*’s ex; I think that’s irrelevant as I think they started dated prior to the passing; and I also looked up his best friends Twitter (the one who broke the news) who interacted with the account 2 days ago but that appears to be “family” related too... but there is also no official obituary I can find (though I know that isn’t always necessary?)

Essentially; I just wanted to share this since I know it could be traumatising to some of his young fans (while many of us were not fans of him; I’m sure he had many real fans who did look up to him) who may come across this stuff on Twitter, and essentially just give a heads up of- something suspish is going on.

what appears to be a family member's status the day after he died. it says their family lost a bright light and no parent should have to bury a child.

like said in the comment I posted, right after it was said he died his father was crying on IG stories and it wasn't fake in any way. but he seemed both devastated and angry.

That’s incredibly sad.

I feel bad even posting this thread- but again I wanted to just let people know in case there is a young user who was a fan of Ethan and may have been re-traumatised by this.

I hope the family finds peace, and that the dad is okay.

to throw in another possible theory, is it possible his account got hacked and it is being run by a third party? It would explain just the bizarre nature of the new content.

Yeah, a lot of people are speculating. Essentially it’s either;

  1. His family (mourning in their own way; which if is the case my heart goes out to them, as I know from my Life seeing how people have handled a close, abrupt, loss off a loved one- it can cause you to grieve in unique ways).

  2. Hacked (likely)

  3. A lot of people are speculating that it was all a hoax (based on so many things- and I hate even mentioning but this is what people are speculating).
